I Don't Get It
Feb 19, 2004

This country could be in serious trouble. Well no, not could be is, it is in serious trouble. Democrats who are polled are asked what concerns them most and always it is economy and jobs.

Now I realize these things are important. If you don't work it is pretty hard to keep food on the table. But it is almost like there are two countries within the same borders. One sane the other not.

These insane people think that the economy is only good when a democrat lives in the White House, and conversely if a republican lives in the White House the economy must be bad. This only goes to show how little these drones know about economics. First we have growth of 8.2% phenomanal by anyones atandards. The unemployment rate has fallen to 5.6%. I guess this is a sign of the worst economy since Herbert Hoover, huh?

This causes anothe fallacy in their economic thinking. Simply that a change at the national level will produce a miraculous turnaround in economic activity and we will have full employment and everything will be just fine. Now, it is true that polices enacted in Washington D.C. can have an impact, just look at the Bush tax cuts. But the truth of the matter is that economies are local not national. It is local policies then that fuel them or kill them. I live in an ecomomically depressed area of the country. Our economy was bad under Bush I it was bad Under Clinton and it has not improved under G.W. Bush.

Is this Bush's fault? Not really. I blame the local politicians(democrats all by the way). It is the local politicians that make it hard for businesses to open, that have high taxes on property, and a draconian sales tax that makes it easier to cross state lines to shop. Bush is no more responsible for the economy here than say, Governor Pataki is responsible for the economy in Alabama.

This brings up another point about the insane people. While the don't know anything about the economy but consider it the most important thing in the world(which is funny because I was always told that it was the republicans who were obsessed with money). They consider the war against the terrorists to be the least important. This is why they are crazy. Like Ostriches they stick there head in the sand and believe if they ignore the problem it will just go away. "I can't take time to think about crazy jihadists who want to kill us all I have to get the kids to a soccer game, and then I have a rally for planned parenthood to attend." Please. A little sanity here. This is equivalent to saying that in 1944 people didn't consider the war against the Nazis or the Japanese that big a deal.

Jobs will be the least of our worries if one of the jihad groups fulfills their lifelong dream and sets off a nuke here in this country. Republicans consider the war to be very important, the democrats don't consider it at all. We are still at war we are still in danger. If we were to pull all of our troops out of Iraq today the jihad groups would only get stronger.

During the punic wars between Rome and Carthage the Roman senator Cato the censor ended every speech "Delenda est Carthago" Carthage must be destroyed. Well let me borrow from him a little. Delenda est Jihadis. Jihadists must be destroyed. They are still waging war against us, we must fight it. They brought the war to us, we must win it.

Delenda est Jihadis.
