It Gives You Time to Think
Feb 3, 2004

It all started innocently enough. I decided to take a walk, this was 6 days ago. Now on that walk on a very cold and icy January day it happened. I slipped on the ice. My leg rolled up underneath me and I heard a loud crack as I hit. A ride to the hospital and some X-rays later and here I am. My ankle wasn't broken, only sprained. But that deosn't mean that I haven't spent the last 6 days going mad.

I am sick of wearing an aircast, I am sick of hobbling around on crutches, and I am sick of not being able to walk like I have been used to.

But, an injury does give one time to reflect, on whatever happens to pop into my head as I lay around the house thinking of gnawing my leg off at the ankle and getting a prosthetic. I certainly have more sympathy for those that are permanently disabled, those that are always hurt. But other thoughts have jumped into my mind over the last 6 days.

Are leftists just angry psychopaths or do they actually believe in what their candidates are saying?

What would happen to the super bowl if all the ads were just regular boring commercials? Our economy would collapse from falling consumer confidence, we would have total anarchy and civilization as we know it would collapse. So it is every companies duty to spend millions of dollars on 30 seconds of airtime and for millions of people to ignore the game and talk about commercials.

Is it just me or is Senator Levin(D-MI) a jerk?

Is it just me or is Senator Rockerfeller(D-WV) an imbecile?

Is it just me or does Senator McCain look like he is five seconds away from having a psychotic episode?

Ok, enough about senators. I have learned that there isn't much on TV that I like. I have learned that I hate a show called Charmed. The women in the house like it but I just don't get it. Anyway I find it very boring. A cure for insomnia.

How is it some people can talk forever without saying anything? Talk, talk, talk, and never really saying anything.

I have come to the conclusion that spoiled actors and actresses who live in Europe and are offended by American patriotism in Europe and slam their nation to the Euro press are just doing what comes natural to them. They are playing to their audience, telling them what they want to hear. Oh, they really do hate President Bush, his supporters, and America in general, they are just too cowardly to say it on this side of the Atlantic. I used to get angry about such people, but who really cares about these halfwits?

In the course of six days of being laid up I have learned that I still need lots of time to finish one of Tolstoys novels. I should stick to shorter books.

Well, that's it. As you can see I didn't do a great deal of deep thinking over the last six days. But I guarntee you that I am going to be more careful around ice from now on.
