Jan 29, 2004 It's hard to think of one topic to write about. If I wrote of everything I am thinking about toaday I would have to write several articles. So I will just put them all into one article. January 22 was the 31st anniversary of Roe V Wade. Now I am going to give it to you straight. I am passionately Pro Life. I used to be pro choice, until I actually started to think about my positions. It gives me pause to think that I actually supported this barbarism at one time. For 31 years the federal government has forced states to legalize abortion. I hope for a day when that is gone. Forty two million dead. Think about that number. That's more than Hitler had killed in his concentration camps, and almost as many has Stalin had killed during his reign of terror. Fortunately, there are signs of hope. Fewer people support abortion. It was nearly 70% now it is only 53%. Today we have fewer women getting abortions. This is all very encouraging, but it still doesn't take away the fact that so many had needlessly died. Sean Hannity rightly compared Roe V Wade to the Dred Scott decision. Dred Scott made people property, took away their humanity, Roe denied the unborn their humanity to begin with. Both slavery and abortion will be black marks on an otherwise great nation. I wish for the day when there are zero abortions in this nation. I hope we get there because the people of this nation can no longer stand to see such cruelty take place here. When you consider abortion it just doesn't make sense. It is part of the dark side of our culture, the part that refuses to take responsibility for what has happened. We allow it to take place, but why? We slaughter in the name of choice. But what choice? Most women are pressured into the abortion, mostly by the cowards who got them pregnant. Why do we kill? Do we do it because we think that their lives will not be as great because there will be more children? We are the richest nation in the history of the world. Are we really saying that we can't afford it. This total disregard for human life must stop. We scream about the violent video games that children play because it desensitizes them, what about actually killing? Let's hope the trend continue to the point where no American can think about this slaughter without shuddering. Now onto other things. I am sick and tired of wealthy politicians claiming to support the working man, the average american. What a joke. It has been going on now for so long. Too many rich men like to think that they are Robin Hood, give to the poor by taking from the rich. Defying their own class. We have John Kerry, and Ted Kennedy, and John Edwards all claiming to speak for the little guy. Except all are rich. Republicans have done it to. Here is a speech from Teddy Roosevelt: www.lib.msu/vincent/presidents/teddy.htm You can hear a man born into wealth railing against class privilege, and screaming against special interests. For a long time now, politicians scream against the special interests. TR did it in 1912 and it has increased to this day where it has become a prerequisite for running for office. Special interests will always be around. They will always be there because people think they have a right to influence government. How shocking! The very idea! You want to stop businesses from contributing to either party? Leave them alone. The money they give is essentially protection money. Throw enough at both parties so that no matter who wins they might get left alone. I am not saying ignore any illegalities on their part, I am saying let them practice their business without excessive regulation and taxation, within the boundaries of the law, and the money of big business will leave politics. But is special interests so bad? Are they really buying politicians, or would the politicians have voted in such a manner anyway because they think that way. Is it a corruption of the political process or a practice of first amendment rights. I think the latter. Let groups influence politicians, it lets them know what people think. ------------ Email Craig Chamberlain: craig_chamberlain@hotmail.com Comment on this column in the forum.
