President Bush has appointed Judge Pickering to the 5th circuit court of appeals, in a recess appointment. About time.

Of course the democrats are screaming bloody murder about this. The normal rhetoric about Pickering being everything from a nazi to well anything else. They senate screams that they were bypassed that Bush did an end run. So what? Many judges have been appointed by recess appointments. Earl Warren and Thurgood Marshall were both appointed in recess. It's not illegal to appoint a judge in recess and why shouold Bush smash his head against a brick wall?

The rumors of Pickerings right wing extremism are grossly overstated. First of all there is his alleged racism. As a prosecutor he prosecuted members of the KKK. Hardly the actions of a pathological racist. Secondly he is supposedly an "anti choice" extremist. Never mind that choice should never be used to describe abortion. However, as far as I know, his views on abortions are only his private views. I don't believe he has said he will try to overturn Roe v. Wade. Even if he wanted to he can't the supreme court would stop him.

Ask yourselves this: would it be so bad if we stopped this hideous practice? Millions of unborn have been slaughtered in an unholy sacrament for the left wing. We have surpassed Hitler and are on are way to surpassing Stalin. This is grossly disturbing. I wouldn't mind an "anti choice" extremist or too on the supreme court.

Judge Pickering is an outstandiong Jurist, that even democrats had no problem with until his name came up for the appeals court. His legal qualifications are impeccable, too bad the idiot democrats couldn't see that and appoint qualified judges to the court instead of using fillibusters to block qualified judges.

President Bush did the right thing. My only question is when is he going to bypass the senate and appoint more judges during the congressional recess?
