Jan 16, 2004 Leftist: You know I don't know how you can support that racist warmonger Bush. I mean he didn't even win the election. Me: Racist? Leftist: Yeah, racist. All you conservatives are racist. You do nothing but attack minoities. Me: Really? So I suppose creating welfare systems that keep poor minorities poor so that they vote for liberals isn't racist? Leftist: What about all the attacks on muslims? Me: First of all muslims aren't a race they are a religion, and we are going after terrorists not muslims and only because they attacked us first. Or don't you remember 9/11? Secondly, didn't win the election? Check the constitution. You only need to win the electoral vote to win the election. Bush didn't get the presidency because the supreme court said so, he won because he won Florida, many a recount says so. Leftist: That doesn't change the fact that Bush is a liar and a warmonger. Me: How so? What did he lie about? And I thought I covered you assertion about being a warmonger already. When I have proven you wrong concede the point so we can move on. Leftist: He lied about WMD. That proves he made up the whole thing in Texas. Senator Kennedy and even Paul O'Neil say so. Me: Ahh... I see... so if senator manslaughter says something then it must be true. Maybe he should stick with something he is good at like getting drunk and then driving and then killing someone rather than trying to form a coherent thought. Paul O'neil is an embittered Prima Donna. Who thinks taking classified documents is no big deal.And even then he can't prove anything. It's all his say so. And talking to a bush hating hack reporter doesn't make his book a bush hating hack job. Now how did he lie about WMD? Leftist: Duh.. he said saddam had them. Me: Really? What he said was that Saddam was actively involved in acquiring weapons of mass destruction. Even at that there is still good chance that he had them. Why order medicine for exposure to nerve agents if he didn't have them? There is also very good information that all these weapons were moved to Syria. Saddam never thought we would actually invade, so he thought he would be getting them back soon. Leftist: Well Bush is no better than Saddam. In fact his family is nothing but a bunch of nazis! Me: Prove it. You can't. Your whole Bush Nazi connection lies in the fact that Prescott Bush did business with some German companies prior to the second world war. That doesn't prove direct contact with the German government let alone any nazi sympathies. The rest of your argument lies in coincidences that can be applied to any politician. br> Leftist: Not true. Both were fudamentalists. Me: Not at all. Hitler was an Atheist. He didn't believe in God. He had a fascination with pagan German mythology but nothing religious. Leftist: Bush is nothing but a gun slinging cowboy bully. Me: A bully? Bullies are the ones who pick on people. Push is fighting the terrorists. They are the bullies. Who is the bully? The one who kills 300,000 of his own people, or the one who saves people from the bully? How is he a cowboy? Leftist: He went it alone. Me: Now you're really reaching. We have dozens of other countries in Iraq. So what if they aren't called France or Germany. France is hardly a model of multilaterialism. It intervenes by itself in its former colonies all the time. Just look at the Ivory Coast. Leftist: Bush runied the economy. His tax cuts set us back to the great depression! Me: I think someone needs a nap. The economy grew by 8.2% in the last quarter and unemployment fell to 5.7% down from 6.1%. It's rather hard to compare that to the great depression when the economy was shrinking and 25% of the people were unemployed.
