Dissent or Lies?
Nov 28, 2003

Stalinist propaganda puppet,err... actor, Tim Robbins has written and directed an anti war play. That's his business. Contrary to the incoherent rantings of the left, Bush has not killed free speech, if he had Robbins would be in solitary confinement.

The basis of this play is that Bush went to war to escape the scandal of enron. Now if Robbins had half a working brain he would realize that there was no scandal to Enron, no matter how much NBC, and the rest tried to make it. So there was no reason for Bush to go to war over Enron. He portrays embedded reporters as Goebells type propagandists being controlled by the pentagon, which are portrayed as stupid warmongers. Worse he portrays our soldiers as butchers of women and children. Perhaps, Robbins needs to look at the casualty figures in Iraq. Civilian casualities were kept to a mininum.

Robbins and his minions describe this play as satire, and try to bill it as dissent not propaganda. In the next breath however they launch into a tirade against fox news screaming with smoke coming out of their ears and foaming at the mouth that they are the real propagandists. The play, which admittedly I have not seen, after all he is only showing it in safe markets like California and New York. (I would like to see him show his garbage in say, Charleston S.C. and get away with this.) The play like all leftist diatribes reveals one of the main intellectual inconsistencies of liberalism. (besides igonoring facts and going on feelings) That is a contradiction concerning conservatives. In one breath they will describe conservatives as brain dead neandethals incapable of coutning beyond ten or dressing ourselves, yet in the next breath they will give conservative credit for creating vast conspiracies that fool everyone, except of course, the enlightened brilliant liberals. Tells you what liberals, the group for the common man actually think of the common man.

Dissent can be noble. However for every Thoreau, Mandella, Ghandi or Solzhynestin, there are hundreds of bar stool rabble rousing fools and hacks posing as intellectuals. Dissent just because it is dissent is not always good. Someone could dissent against the right to freedom of religion. Someone could dissent against the right to freedom of speech, that doesn't make it right.

Robbins is not dissenting against totalitarianism, he is not protesting for freedom. He is dissenting against liberation agruing in favor of dictatorship, disguising it as dissent against a war that freed people. Robbins and his ilk can not legitmately claim to be for freedom and then oppose measure which make people free. I hope someone dissents against the socialist holloywood and Robbins, and does so soon, let the truth get out.
