The World IS a Better Place!!
Nov 26, 2003

Removing Saddam Hussein was the right thing to do. Total Chaos in the country? Not unless you count the sunni triangle as the entire country. And even that can't be descirbed as total chaos."half the people don't want us there and never did" Really? Let's see. Hmmm.... the shiite make 65% of the population and the Kurds make about 15% of the population. Both wanted us to overthrow Hussein and want us there. That is 80% in our favor. Even among the sunni arabs a minority are opposed to us. At most there are 5,000 fighters and 50,000 sympathizers. Yes everyone hates us.

No government. I guess ambassador Bremer is just there for his health. And I know the Iraqi Council is not the beloved UN but it at least isn't running for cover and jumping at every shadow. Lets see no law and order. Well considering that the second largest contingent in Iraq are Iraqis I don't see this argument holding a drop of water. Iraqis now police their own streets and law and order are being restored. The crime wave was the result of Hussein letting the prisoners out of prison. Now that they are being arrested the situation is improving dramatically.

What other lies will my facts dismantle? Yes I believe I read that the infrastucture is gone and the country is crumbling. You must be confused with Afghanistan. If you had your facts even remotley right you would know that the Iraqi infrastructure is largely repaired.Roads, bridges, water, electricity and oil lines are all working.

Its funny the only time an anti war nut cares about the lives of U.S. soldiers is when a republican is in charge and the fighting has stopped. Before the war we had lefites wishing for a "million mogadishus." Yes, they wet their pillows with their tears every night crying for our soldiers. Lefties have no problem with them being in Kosovo, or in Bosnia. Lets take a look at the facts. We have lost fewer soldiers in this war than we did in one week in Vietnam. Yeah, our soldiers are getting their butts kicked. Secondly the lefties distort the number. They don't tell you that they include our soldiers deaths, whether from combat or from accidents. Which happen in the military everyday everywhere.

Yes it is a good thing we went into Iraq and cleaned up the place. A homicidal dictator is long gone, a attacks on our troops, though troublesome, are lesseing and will continue to do so. The vast majority of Iraqis are optimistic about their lives now that Saddam is out of power. Wow, what a pity we didn't do the smart thing and leave him in charge.
