Slouching Towards Gommorah
Nov 19, 2003

Yeah, yeah, I know the title is ripping off Robert Bork, but I think it fits in with the theme of what I am talking about today.

Today the state supreme court of Massachuttes said that outlawing Gay marriage is unconstitutional. They now join states like Vermont, and Hawaii. It used to be illegal, then it was a matter of privacy, now it is legal, as the old joke goes: how long until they make it cumpolsory? What irks me is that the conservative response is mute to this. It is as if we have become numb to the degeneration of our culture.

Prersident Bush did the right thing by signing a partial birth abortion ban. Within minutes left wing groups like the ACLU filed a lawsuit and stopped the ban. It will probably go to the U.S. Supreme Court where oppenents of the ban will win 5-4. (Scalia, Rehinquist, and Thomas will definetly vote to uphold the ban and Kennedy or O'Connor will vote with them but not both)Thus, a disgusting inhuman, naziesque practice will be deemed legal, in fact constitutional.

Now, I have never spent a day in law school, but I have read the U.S. Constitution. Nowhere does it say that homosexuals may marry or that abortion in any form is legal. That's what lies at the heart of the matter. Leftists no they can't win in the democratic process. They lose referendums and when they run as liberals they get beat, so they run to the judges. Who act more like an elite priesthood, or oligarchy, than upholders of the law. You see, I like my constituion dead. I don't believe in implied powers or in broad interpretations. It means exactly what it says and if you don't like what it says then you amend it. Thus the right to keep and bear arms means exactly that. No official religion and free exercise thereof means that, not that any public display of religion violates an imaginary clause to the first amendment.

You see this country is supposed to be a republic with laws and institutions dealt with in the democratic process. Judges take away that when they make law from the bench and that is what leftists love. Those enlightend judges by pass the common peons. If this nation, and to a large extent, the western world wishes to survive, then there must be a way to get rid of judges who ignore the law of the land and make their own law based on their private political opinions.

Why is this so important, why is it a matter of life and death that we uphold traditional morality in a day when morality of any kind is sneered at mocked and its defenders scourged? Because morality and the institutions that defined our morality, are what made the western world great. Christianity, and I don't mean the anti christianity that is replacing it by making a mockery of it such as the anglican church, made the west great, being nations of laws, not of men made the west great. Sadly these things are passing away and the sun may be setting on the west.

Now I know how the Romans felt as the barbarians were gnawing on the borders of their empire. Too bad our barbarians are working from the inside.
