Oct 24, 2003 They just better not try to leave the plantation. Now what am I talking about? Well, it is really simple. Liberal hypocrisy comes to mind but specifically how the democrats can claim with a straight face that they are the party of minority rights then act the way the do. So lets talk about judges. President Bush keeps sending perfectly qualified judges to be appointed to the federal bench. Yet good democrats blocked the nomination of Miguel Estrada, I mean how dare a hispanic be on the court when he ins't taking orders from la raza or licking Ted Kennedys shoes, everyone knows the hispanics like him are supposed to be in California picking produce. I thought I read somewhere that the republicans were the party of racists...hmm...must have been before my time,or more accuratley never at all. Miguel Estrada was a perfectly qualified person, yet it was the supposed champion of minority rights like Ted Kennedy, and ex Klansmen Robert Byrd(Kennedy by the way maybe a bigger racist than Byrd is, if that is possible) blocked his nomination. Now the party of the klan is trying to do it again. Justice Brown of California has been nominated the the court of appeals in Washington D.C. she was appointed by governor Wilson and was reelected to her job with 76% of the vote. Her sin, she actually thinks for herself. Why everyone knows that she is supposed to be a good little african american and take orders from Kwesi Mfume and clean Ted Kennedys toilet on the weekend. How dare she leave the plantation! I mean heavan forbid, she believes in self reliance and hard work. Instead of being applauded for what she has accomplished in her life she is mocked in racist cartoons, written by democrats. How dare she think for herself. Yes, slavery still exsists in this country for minorites. No it is no the slavery of picking cotton in the deep south, this slavery is much worse. This is a slavery that extend nationwide, it is the slavery of the mind. When you can't think your own thoughts without being punished that is the most brutal slavery of all. Abraham Lincoln was known as the great emancipator and rightly so, a barbaric instution was done away with. Now it is time for the republican party to be the anti slavery party again and get the minorites off the intellectual plantaion. Maybe George W. Bush can be the next emanciaptor and break the intellectual slaveocracy that the democrats are running. ------------ Email Craig Chamberlain: craig_chamberlain@hotmail.com Comment on this column in the forum.
