Oct 23, 2003 Perhaps it is just me, but I doubt it. It seems to me that the only ones seeking office are political hacks who couldn't make it anywhere else. No, no I am not talking about the people seeking the democratic nomination for president. That is another article for another time. No this is another article about my home state of West Virginia. Our idiot governor is not running for reelection. A smart move on his part. So a whole army has emerged to try to take his job. I can't figure why anyone would want it, but they are trying to take it anyway. Sadly, this mediocrity extends to both political parties. Neither party is running anyone who has any new ideas, or who would even make a good governor. An ex cia officer is seeking the democratic nomination. His platform consists of passing legislation that would declare white males a minorty group and would double the tution at our state colleges and universities for out of state students. ( Too bad he hasn't noticed that whites are 95% of the population and our colleges are mostly made up of out of state students) on the republican side we have a man that says he is a painter but looking at his arrest record he must be a professional bar brawler. I won't even go into his platform, if I did you would swear that I am making all of this up. Sadly it isn't just the gubenatorial candidates. It is also those running for congress. Now, I am not fond of my congressman. Personally, I think he is a fool. But from what I know of his opponent, or more aptly what I don't know, I don't think he would do much better. All I know about him is what county he is from and his political affiliation. Maybe i'll learn more about him as time goes on but something tells me the best he will do is buy a billboard somewhere. Its the voters fault. We keep putting these mediocre politicans back into office. And it is not just in West Virginia i'm sure.
