Aug 21, 2003 When you think of a state that is dominated by liberal democrats and that has corrupt politicians you are probably going to think of California. With all the media attention going on so would I. Let me introduce you to my state it is run top to bottom by liberal democrats and most of them so corrupt that it made the soviet system look honest by comparison. I have made mention before of the endemic economic problems in West Virginia. Many of our problems can be solved by getting rid of two men. Allow me to introduce you to Darrell and Warren McGraw. These two are so corrupt that Gray Davis looks like a choir boy next to them. Now, I know that their names mean nothing so let me tell you who they are. Darrell is the attorney general for the state of West Virginia and Warren, his brother, is a justice on the supreme court. Now this should create all kinds of conflict of interest problems, but these two rednecks will tell you with a straight face that their is no conflict of interest and they can be objective. Now Darrell and Warren McGraw have not met a business they haven't liked to sue. That's their game. Darrell sues the business for some imaginary infraction and Warren, who should by all legal ethics(please no oxymoron jokes)excuse himself from the case hears it anyway and suprise suprise votes to agree with his brother. That is why no businesses will come to West Virginia. If a factory opens up Darrell is there with a smile on his face and a lawsuit in hand. These two neductaed simians pass themselves off as defending the common man. If that had one scintila of truth to it I might be a little easier on these two.Their latest scheme? Fund their reelection drive with public money. Public money that was acquired through lawsuits filed by Darrell McGraw and upheld by Warren McGraw. Their plan is to use 200,000 dollars for a series of ads to inform west virginans they might be entitled to some money. The problem? The ads come in an election year and will feature the voice and picture of the attorney general. This amounts to public funded campaign ads. The McGraws are facing opponents in the election, a rarity for them, but it will do little good. Those two are demigods in most of the state. Gray Davis complains of a right wing takeover, I wish there were one going on here. We could use it. An aside. Senator Klansmen oops, I mean Byrd. Won't run for reelection in 2006, or says he won't anyway. So is it time to rejoice. Hardly. He has announced that he would like congressman Alan Mollohan to replace. Mollohan is hardly an improvement. AH... the beauty of the democratic party. ------------ Email Craig Chamberlain: craig_chamberlain@hotmail.com Comment on this column in the forum.
