Dec 13, 2002 Perhaps I should clarify. I'm talking about people who are Politically Correct, not Personal Computers. It all started for me about 7 years ago, when I first felt the shift. I was the manager of a brand name electronics store at the time, and usually right around the 1st of December I started feeling the Christmas (not holiday) spirit. People were nicer; I went out of my way to help little old ladies with their packages. It was the one time of the year every one was treated extra special. And then it came. The tide of political correctness that has swept the nation, obliterating in its wake every piece of individuality that made this time of year special. The HO HO HO! of Santa as he finished with "Merry Christmas!" Now he sits in the middle of the mall, probably under threat not to disrupt the shoppers. "Happy Holidays!" everything proclaims, because of Chanukah, Christmas, and Kwanzaa all happen at about the same time. Its no longer Christmas party, its Winter Celebration, because doggone it, we wanna make everyone the same. I for one, am tired of it. I'm fighting back. It's little ways, really, telling everyone "Merry Christmas," instead of "Happy Holidays." And apparently, I am not the only one that feels this way. Check out the list of sites I've dug up: 1. 10 ideas for a better Christmas by halfbakery.com Excellent Ideas about how to spruce up this time of year and make it a tad more fun. For those of you who need some help in defining this popular pastime 3. Politically Correct Physics A guide to New-Age Physics that empowers everyone except the people taking the courses. An update on this time - honored operating system. 5. Dave Barry's Official Website Dave Barry never fails to make me laugh at myself, which of course takes up time I would spend laughing at other people. Of course, I am sure that these sites will be offensive to some people. Of course, those are the same people who look at me funny when I tell them Merry Christmas. ------------ Clark Bartron has been a web designer and Internet researcher for over 6 years.
