Apr 21, 2004 It appears highly probable that some of Saddam's WMD have been found, which is the good news. The bad news is that they have found their way into Al Qaeda hands. The prior reports from British and Israeli intelligence which came out a year or more ago have been substantiated by the finding of VX nerve gas agents in a couple huge car bombs being prepared by Al Qaeda agents in Jordan prior to Prince Abdullah's planned meeting with George W. Bush. Another plot, probably, to influence a country to turn against the USA, a la Espana. I knew Spain was setting a bad precedent by getting rid of a good president. (I couldn't resist, Willis.) So. Just where might the WMD turn up next? Chicago? New York City? Washington, DC? Vigilance is warranted. If you are interested, I have posted a couple articles here a few months ago on anti-terrorism measures the average citizen can take. If traveling by air, here are some other tips. 1) Don't advertise wealth. No fancy watches or expensive jewelry. 2) Keep names, addresses, other personal info from being readable on outside of luggage. Use tags that hide data inside. 3) Make luggage easily identifiable so you can locate it and clear the baggage claim area quickly. 4) On the airplane, choose a rear window seat. Seats near the cockpit and aisle seats are most hazardous. 5) At the airport, arrive early and watch for any suspicious activity. 6) Keep scanning the area for pillars or other cover in case of small-arms fire. 7) Avoid secluded areas. 8) Don't linger in or near open public areas. 9) If you see any unattended baggage or other package, clear the area and notify someone. This applies ot the airport, subways, or other public areas. 10) Observe baggage claim area from a distance, don't rush in to get luggage and stand around in a crowd. Wait till crowd clears the area to pick up luggage if feasible. 11) Always lock car 12) Don't leave it on the street overnight. 13) Check back seat for people before getting in. 14) Check around for suspicious people before gettig out. 15) In a restaurant or other public building, don't sit near front of building toward street or near windows. 16) Be inconspicuous. Don't dress or act in ostentatious or noticeable ways. 17) Take usual home precautions, set lights on timers, leave a radio on near back of house so the house sounds occupied. Let neighbors know itinerary, let police know you will be gone, for how long, etc. If interested in breaking news on the WMD, follow these links: http://edition.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/meast/04/14/jodan.attack/ http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2004/04/19/wjord19.xml&sSheet=/news/2004/04/19/ixworld.html http://www.newsmax.com/archives/ic/2004/4/17/141224.shtml http://www.2la.org/syria/wmd.html http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1120819/posts It appears to me that Democrats have shot themselves in the foot, which is especially dangerous after having inserted your foot in your mouth. ------------ About the author: 62-yr-old physician, still practicing, retired from 41 years intermittent military service as of June 1, 2003.
