Artie Kutsumitis

Poem For The Plow Guy
Feb 29, 2004

As our Winter comes to an end, and we look forward to Spring, I would like to share with all of our readers a poem that I have written. I have been in the snowplowing business for twenty years, and my family, considerably longer than that. People think that plowing is "Blood Money", which it very well might be. But, if it weren't for all the plowing contractors out there, you would never get to your destination. If we didn't keep the roads and parking lots clear of snow and ice, you wouldn't get to that important meeting, Church, the doctor, or GOD forbid......shopping. I hope this poem explains some of our business............

As I lay me down to sleep
My boots ready at my feet
Waiting for the first flake to fall
I'm waiting patiently for the call
The phone rings and I'm off like a flash
People think I'm only in it for the cash
While you're warm and snug in your bed
I'll be sanding and plowing all night, as I said
Thirty hours later, after the roads are clear
I will head home, knowing that the public will have no fear
...Artie Kutsumitis...

I hope that sums up what we do, and I hope you remember us, the next time it snows.
