Sept 5, 2003 The way it works is the Politicians pontificate about the need to restrict illegal immigration knowing the necessity of undocumented workers to the economy. They make all sorts of proposals to correct the problem while restricting the Boarder Patrol from enforcing the law. If your over 40 its a catch 22. If your under 40 it sucks. Here is the situation, those poor Mexicans coming across the boarder are only trying to make a living. They are not terrorists, murders, drug dealers they are good people looking for jobs. They have no idea of the stress they are putting Americans through. All they know is Americans won't wash dishes, cut grass, pick fruit, harvest vegetables, wash Aunt Sallys bottom or any of the menial jobs they are willing to take. As they see if those jobs are to get done the Mexicans have to do them. Its like a good deed thing. Once we had a Guest worker program, Bobby Kennedy sold out in the late 60's for the California vote. When the progran ended technology took over. Machines that could harvest anything from a watermelon to a raspberry where developed, manual harvest was history. The down side was they couldn't harvest ripe produce. Now we are forced to eat produce with no tast and little nutrition value. Today most of our produce comes from other countries, we have no idea the chemicals used in growing them. They still have no tast. Since there are no Farm jobs left you would think all those Mexicans would go home, Not so. There are a dozen Liberal organizations including the ACLU there to protect their civil rights.There children have qualified for University grants based on their ethnic background. They have moved into the trades, carpentry, painting, dry-walling etc. etc. Bought homes, cars, all the toys of the Americans. Go home , no way Jose. Mexicans are only part of the immigration problem. Greeks own the restaurants,East Indians own the convenience stores, Arabs own the liquar stores, Africans drive the taxies, Canadians have all the good T.V. jobs. no one pumps gas all the Subways and Dunkin Donuts shops are up for grabs. Remember when our Government told us not to worry about NAFTA all we needed was a good education and we would be set for life. How many Doctors and Nurses are from the Philippines? How many computer engineers are from China? How many American company's have sent their CAD engineering to India. Even tel-a-marketing has been transfered to India. The guy that calls to collect your over due credit card bill is calling from India. It isn't the jobs taken by immigrants we need to worry about it is the jobs being sent out of the country that is the real problem. Politicians blame the President for the ills of the Country. In fact it is both houses of congress who are the culprits. It is time for the American voter to wake up and smell the coffee. We have been sold a bill of goods for the past 70 years being told Presidents are to blame. Until we hold congress accountable for their actions we will continue to lose jobs and industries. In many foreign countries it is well known a U.S. Congressman can be bought very cheap. As long as Congress gets away with the blame game nothing will change. WAKE UP AMERICA!
