Integrity And Rush Limbaugh
Oct 14, 2003

As we all know, Rush Limbaugh has now confessed to his audience and the world that he is addicted to prescription painkillers. The question that each and every person, admirer and detractor alike, must now ask him- or herself is, So what?

Its easy to see that there will be no shortage of attacks against the already embattled talk show host. The liberal establishment, for once, needs no talking points memo to let them know that their number-one most important job is to viscously attack Rush in an attempt to forever remove the largest throne ever in their collective sides.

Thats a givenand fortunately for the rest of us they dont really matter.

The more important group of people who must now ask, So what? are his seemingly endless legion of faithful supporters and fans. Will this new information dethrone the Great One, the Grand Pu Bah, Maha Rushie? The answer to that is very much dependent on what our true expectations are of anyone in public, or private, life. Do I expect perfection from my boss? How about from my employee? Maybe my parents, children, neighbors? Most importantly, do I expect perfection from myself? If you answer yes to any one of those questions, you will most assuredly end up miserable and alone. So what do we expect from all of those people listed above? The answer that any honest person will give, when he or she truly sits down to think about it, is very simple: integrity.

That one word, integrity, will be used as a weapon against the Maha in short order. People will argue that he demands moral perfection from everyone else while being now so obviously flawed himself. They, however, will be proven wrong.

Rush has always stood up for integrity. We now know that he was not holding himself as tightly as he might have to that same standard. There will be those who argue for Rush. They will say that his addiction is more understandable than those of the typical crack addict etc. While they may have a point, it is moot. The reason is simple. Rush will stand up for what he has done. He will not become a victim. He will take responsibility for his actions and pay for them, just has he has always demanded of others.

How do I know this? Do I have some direct line to his office? Maybe I have a super-super- secret email address or IM connection. Nope. I know this because of the person I believe Rush is, and has always been. The man has made a series of mistakes. He has now come clean. The only next logical step is for him to face the music.

He will do so because to do otherwise would be to admit defeat, and any true fan knows that Rush believes too strongly in the cause of Conservatism to allow a personal flaw to threaten it now that we are gaining such amazing momentum.

Rush, we believe and we await your return to the airwaves.

Be well, be better and

Dittos.
