Oct 9, 2003 You will be amazed by what I'm about to tell you. America has an on going sweatshop. Not only is the government ignoring the problem , but it is encouraging and funding it's operation! Would you like to hazard a guess as to the identity of the organization? You'd never believe it so I'll tell you. It is Goodwill Industry's. Yes!! Goodwill Industry's!! Which is famous for it's work of hiring the mentally and physically challanged. They supposedly , train and prepare them for mainstreaming into society. Yet they are the culprit in modern day Slave Labor! The main warehouse , where donations are processed , is filled with screaming supervisors. There are no thoughts of political correctness. Instead there are the sounds of these words; Dumb , Stupid , Retard! How do I know this? Because I was a supervisor at one of these processing plants. I saw it all! Clients are paid piece meal , well below minimum wage. When asked if they are happy with their checks , many will say they are rich. Any one can be happy with anything if they know no better. I've seen many a paycheck after taxs at $13.00 for 40 hours!! Safety and OSHA precautions are avoided and ignored. You seldom see hearing protectors , safety shoes , or eye protection. At breaktime clients push and shove and run over each other in their haste to get to their breaks. There is marked lack of supervision. Forklifts run around at breakneck speed barely missing clients. Everything is fast paced and rushed accompanied by the screams of angry supervisors. This my friends is Goodwill Industry's.
