June 28, 2003 The Law of Codification should be understood when trying to legislate our way back to the 1950's. History shows us that with codification comes, in quick fashion, the loss of the spirit of what was sought-after. When something is defined, it can be defined away. Even the Almighty delayed giving the LAW to the Hebrews for some 600 years. He didn't want to lose them to lawyers. If the State can list what you can do, by implication they've listed what you cannot do. Codification is sort of a coffin for ideas and realtionships. Further, Political Correctness is the codification of the Secular-Socialist Liturgy. Let's not replace the Left's Creed with a new one. This brings us to the second law. This is the Law of the Sphere. Left and Right should not be understood in linear terms. Left and Right should be described in Spherical terms --- the extremes of each lead to the same place. The conundrum is, however, that usefulness and utility give gravity to the sphere, so that anyplace on the ball seems to be 'up'. Any codification based solely on usefulness will give a momentary feeling of uprightness. So, how does one find the poles on this sphere? There are two poles on any operating sphere, and one can be found through a Transcendent Law, the other through a transcendent Ideology. Like love and hate, these poles stand back-to-back, but their viewpoints are worlds apart. This leads to a third law. It is the Law of Philosophic Parallaxism. What one REALLY sees, depends on where one stands. We must remember that there are many ways 'down' a sphere. Those who are repelled by a soviet-type Socialism should take care not to fly past the Judeo-Christian Pole, and shoot down the right-side toward a national-type Socialism. This was the viewpoint that had originally repelled them only because they were not in charge. They really did, after all, like a supreme State. The Transcendent Law of the Judeo-Christian Pole declares all under Rex Lex. Those who believe they are superior to the LAW of Moses gravitate toward that pole which makes groups demi-gods and that leader who best reflects their desires, divine. Again, they really see the State as having the answers to social problems. Many of these people could end up in the back-to-the-past movement. No one can stay on the exact top of the ball. A foot down each side of the arc is stable and bespeaks the need for degrees and approach in our yearning for the 'good-old-days'. If a child infused with Judeo-Christian teachings is put into uniform, we end up with a 50's child. If a child soaked in Secular-Socialism is put into uniform, we end up with a Hitler Youth. If one really believes we can mend the American social fabric, then the warp must be Judeo and the woof Christian.
