June 18, 2003 Choice. Robert Frost says of choice, "Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, and sorry I could not travel both...". What is this talk of choice I hear preached by the priests of the state-church? The hymn goes something like this: I WANT A CHOICE I WANT MY WAY DON'T SAY I'M WRONG NO PRICE I'LL PAY. This term has obviously been used as a euphemism. Each generation has a few outstanding circumlocutions. We should all remember 'protective custody' and 'final solution'. The Soviets worked dark wonders with 'education'. When today's secular believers bark 'choice', just what are they referring to? Is it a decision about vanilla or chocolate ice cream? Are they struggling with staying home or leaving town? Hopefully we all know that they are talking about killing? Yet, just whom are they killing? I'm sure they're not going to breath out any names as Adam did in the Garden. Adam was keeping the place, those who demand choice are destroying the place. Those who choose to kill fetuses maintain that in the past women had to have abortions in far-flung places and secret locations. This, of course, proves they have had a choice since Joshua said, 'choose you this day...'. Joshua said that over 3000 years ago. Those who sacrifice fetuses on the alter of license want more than a choice. They want a law that guarantees results. They want to choose vanilla ice cream, and have the taste of chocolate in their mouths. They want to leave town, and have the benefits of staying home. They want to kill, and then live life as if they had just sneezed. It's not only children who need to be told, 'You can't have your cake and eat it also!' Yet, the preachers of choice believe they have found a way to do just that. They can eat their cake, and the state will give them another one just like it. They believe that because the state-church proclaims it legal to kill fetuses, that doing so has no ramifications. Oh, but they are overlooking something. Even as a poet, with poetic license, Frost had to be realistic and say, 'SORRY I could not travel both'. So, to those with a license to kill a fetus, I give a dose of reality. In reality, those children all have names. They can and will be identified. UH OH. In reality, they are not fetuses anymore. They are now children. (It only gets worse from here on) In reality, they have more knowledge now than all Courts, Schools, and Think Tanks combined. In reality, they know exactly what happened to them. Someone chose to kill them. I hope they're not angry. Did the state-church fail to mention these things to you? When they told you you had the right to kill a fetus, were they speaking ex cathedra or is it just their opinion? If you go to the state-church and explain that your fetus is alive, very smart, and knows what happened, they will no doubt say to you, 'we deal with ideas NOT people'. That makes all the difference. Finally, to the so-called Christians who claim to belong to another Church and still believe in 'choice'; choose you this day whom you will serve. Some Christians believe they can vote for those who support abortion, and not have to answer for it. Obviously your pastors forgot to speak to you about facilitation. Maybe they need a cut in pay for ineptitude. Facilitation can cause a murder to take place, and leave behind few names. If you believe in an Almighty, then you should know He holds facilitators more responsible for what 'the system' does, than those who do the actual deed. When the Innocent One was delivered to the State, Jesus said that those who facilitated His being in front of Pilate had sinned a greater sin. When innocent ones are delivered to the State, which has the 'right' to kill them, make sure your vote did not place them there. ------------ About the author: Joe Magoo is trained as a Theologian and Church Historian.
