Why Liberalism Is Socialism
June 9, 2003

Liberals, and more recently the left wing of the Democratic party, have always been socialists in sheeps clothing, willing to do literally anything to get elected to office, and thus hold sway over the rest of us. This reality is brought to stark light with the field of nine Democrats scrambling over one another to gain the support of their party to get the nomination to run against George W. Bush in 2004, and it would be funny except that this is for real. These candidates will do anything to attract the far left voting blocs of their party to gain their nomination in the primary, and then change their tune when it comes to the general election. "Fake right, run left", as the saying goes. They know that they cannot possibly get elected spewing the garbage they really believe in. As the attacks on President Bush continue into the primary season, pay attention, because these same candidates will be singing a different tune when they have to confront a more energized and knowledgeable electorate the closer we come to November 2004. All of this really doesn’t matter anyway, since failing a serious scandal for the Bush administration, (not finding WMD’s doesn’t count, by the way) the Dem’s don’t even stand a chance. The American people trust their president, and they also think he is doing the right thing. The hue and cry from the left about domestic policy and the economy is nothing more than a tempest in a tea pot, and most sensible people see right through it. With the investor friendly tax cut from Bush, the economy should be doing just fine by 2004, and frankly, most folks are smart enough to acknowledge that if you don’t pay taxes in the first place, you don’t have any claim to a tax cut, so this nonsense about a tax cut for the rich is falling on deaf ears. Reagan took 49 states in 1984, and I am predicting a similar drubbing for whomever the Democrats nominate. This explains why Hillary is not running in ’04.

Now how about addressing where all of those weapons of mass destruction are in Iraq. The left has been making some serious accusations, such as we have been lied to because we went to war based on the fact that Saddam had these weapons, and we have yet to find them. Right. Let’s marshall the facts shall we? UN resolution 1441 affirmed that according to reports submitted by Iraq in the past, they still had WMD’s prohibited in previous resolutions. Saddam could not confirm to the international community his submission to UN demands that he disarm himself of these weapons in a verifiable way, and this was a condition of the cessation of hostilities from the 1991 war. This condition was never met. Let’s also agree that everyone, including France, Germany, The U.K., Russia, and the UN all agreed that Saddam had not gotten rid of these weapons. If he did, then why were we going through all of the inspections before the war. President Bush had a mandate from both houses of congress to prosecute a war, and oh my, 1,000 people in the street in San Francisco (?) should give us all cold feet about the wonderful gift we gave to the Iraqi people? What about the billions of dollars funneled into Saddam’s regieme from the dubious UN "oil for food project"? How about the rape rooms, the ears cut off, toungues cut out, and mass graves filled with bodies of Iraqis who Saddam didn’t like. I guess he used up all of his poison gas when he killed 5000 Kurds and many more Shiites for rising up against him. To say that we were not justified in ending this horror is bordering on lunacy—just ask any liberated Iraqi citizen. It is enough to make me wonder if Saddam wasn’t in collusion with the Democratic party to discredit the Bush administration. Those weapons are there, and we will find them, sooner or later, trust me.

The left has a lot to answer for in 2004, and I am predicting that their story will not be up to snuff for the American people. We have tried years of liberal ideas and wound up with a society that most agree needs to be changed, and fast, but that is another subject. It is a new day on the political field, and it is looking better, at least from my perspective.
