The Democrats Are NOT Shrinking
May 27, 2003

When I look around at the many people who submit to this site, I wonder how many are Demorats. Unfortunately, I do not see many. Each day I start getting more and more nervous that maybe this is true, that Democrats are losing power in this world. I mean, "Is are children learning?", as Bush would put it. If they are, I'll sure say we would have different leaders.

Are the Democrats really losing people? I hardly find that out to be so. While some would argue that the White House is GOP as is both the Senate and the House I hardly see our people becoming conservative as well. Think about Oklahoma, what most would find to be an extremely conservative state. In 2002 we elected a young State Senator, a Democrat, instead of a Congressman AND a football player. Now I'll tell you right now, football means votes in Oklahoma. How he lost will always be a mystery, but this is a wonderful mystery. Not only is the Governor's Mansion Democrat, but so is the Oklahoma Senate and the Oklahoma House, by growing margins. I hardly seem to think that in any way the Democrats are shrinking.

Let's take a peek at the values of the Democrats. When most people think of Democrats they may think of helping normal people, or they may think of saving the trees. And then others think of change, being optimistic, and being ones that think even the smallest of things makes a difference. I once talked to a few Republican friends and was astounded to find out that they do not think much of the poorer people. They can't make a difference, they say. Or why should they have the right to welfare or children, they will just abuse their rights. I'll tell you right now, I look at all people and see opportunity. I see the world being benefited in the future because the poor kids were brought up with strong values and soon became our leaders. When a Republican looks at a war, they see the bad and the good, and how we should just jump in and cream them good. When I look at a war I see that small chance that we can stop this before losing lives. Yes, there are times when this does not work and you just have get in there and hope for the best. Looking at the United States from the outside usually does not make the USA look very good. People look at us and see selfish pigs who think they can solve anything with the best military and the strongest power, etc. I will say right now that the people who truly make the difference are the ones who can work things out, and those people are the Democrats.

Democrats will never leave and will never go away. We will always strive for the best in this world and think that all mankind can make a difference, whether or not they are rich, or have connections, or have the best of parents. I think people should be given a chance, most of the time, they will not disappoint you.
