Mar 21, 2004 Dear Craig, I know Europe´s history very well and the failures that were made in the late 30´s. Yes, the politics of appeasement were wrong. However, I don´t agree with you Al´-Quida terrorists have been weakened by Bush´s his war on terror. To the contrary: they´ve only become more fanatic! What I see as a smarter way of fighting terror is a thorough coordination of all Western intelligence services in theit hunt for terrorists. Is convincing leaders in the Middle East and Asia not to suppress their civilians and make them get into the arms of terrorism (see the situation the the Palestine territories), but to work on progress for their own people. And not keep on supporting those undemocratic leaders because they´re useful out of political reasons which are doubtful at least. And Kadaffi? Well, couldn´t it be he just decided to cooperate because it is more profitable by now then to remain isolated? You´ve got your opinion. I´ve got mine. The fact is we are now fighting each other with arguments and contra arguments where it would be better to see together how terrorism can be tackled the best way. Sometimes with military power. Sure. But not only by that. ------------ Email Johan Peters: johan.peters@johanpeters.net Tell a friend about this site! ------------ |
