July 28, 2003 I'm serious. Think of how much smoother this country would run if we eliminated the party of braying jackasses. But this is a democracy people would say, we have a two party system. True enough. But there are over 50 parties in this country aside from the republicans and democrats. One of them would step up to fill the democrats demise. Ok, ok maybe outlawing them is going to far,(we should at least have the right to tape Senator Kennedys mouth shut though) but at the very least we can expose the party for what it really is. Just a glance at the history of the party would warrant its extinction.The democratic party is the party that forcibly exiled native americans from the southeast to the midwest, it is the party that passed the fugitive slave law, it is the party that supported the right of slave owners and the party that largely supported secession. It is the party that opposed reconstruction, and passed Jim Crow laws, it is the political party that absorbed socialism into the political mainstream, it is the party that opposed womens suffrage, it is the party that gave us the new deal, the greatest set of legislative disaters in the history of our nation.It was a democratic president, Woodrow Wilson, who upon watching a KKK propaganda movie claimed that it was so sad because it was true. It was the democratic party that supported the KKK and joined its ranks it was the party the lynched blacks. It was the party that opposed the 1964 civil rights act, LBJ went against his party to sponsor it and needed republican support to pass it. Imagine if it was the republican party that had this kind of history. Why the democrats would have passed legislation making it illegal to join the party decades ago. If their is a party of treason and treachery it is the democrats. Am I being too unfair on them? I think not. The republicans fight a war against terrorism to defend our nation and you would think the republicans were goose stepping down the streets of Washingon D.C. and burning books written by muslims with concentration camps in the works as well. The democrats scream about the treatment of terror suspects at gitmo, the shriek that WMD have yet to be found and they say that Iraq didn't cause Sept. 11, as if that is a justification of the former regime in Baghdad. This isn't just partisn politics this is an honest attempt by a major political party to damgae this country.
