Sept. 30, 2004 Coincidence? Maybe. On 09-29-04, Useless-Knowledge.com posted my article "John Kerry Is Reminiscent Of FDR, Harry Truman, And John Kennedy". One of the subjects of discussion was the Presidential Debates, and the "32 Page Memorandum Of Understanding" hammered out by both political parties. That document essentially handcuffed the Television Networks, demanding only "Static" non-panning camera positions on the candidates. My article was available on Google's Search Engine, Google's Headline News, and Google's News Alerts in the early afternoon. To my surprise, there was a response from a reader in my e-mail, a short time later. What really blew me away - at 11:30PM, the same day - there was a Headline on "Yahoo's News Page" which stated: "Networks Defy Presidential Debate Camera Rules" The accompanying article stated that all of the Television Networks refused to sign the document, and basically stated "Screw You, And The Horse You Rode In On". The Moderator's of the event, seconded those sentiments. Did my article have any effect on this decision? Could one man's opinion, sway the minds of the Media? Are my sugar levels low, and am I delusional? No. I can not take credit for the Media's rebellious stance. However, I do give credit to the editor of Useless-Knowledge.com for posting my thoughts. Thank You! The Debates, hopefully, will not be a "Snore" event. We may be treated to the humanity of the candidates, and foibles attributed to that condition. ------------ About the author Argile Stox: Visit the website: http://mysite.verizon.net/res8nrbr/ Email: argilestox@verizon.net Tell a friend about this site! ------------ |
