Alyce Ornella In Wonder Land [Email: alyce@humbled.com]

By Dennis L. Siluk
Sept. 29, 2004

Alyce Ornella (email: alyce@humbled.com) sounds like an Arabic name translated, (not Indian), more like Iraqi, I'll be darn, maybe it is. Well Ms. Alyce wrote me two emails, and we of course did not see eye to eye on an issue - it was related to a disagreement (just like an old married couple), and she started the name calling, along with telling me: how uninformed I was about the rights, policies and such things of the Indians of America. I wasn't into Indian policies per se, when I wrote my article on the monies of the Casinos the Indians own (although she claimed she was); my idea was more on 200-years of Federal spending, anyhow I didn't really make that a big deal in the article, it was more Casino linked. She said in essence: I sounded like the US Government, and I have to agree with her, I most likely did, in the sense of not feeling I should have to pay more taxes, and that the Casinos should contribute to the tax burden of the public, if not more to their own kind. She of course didn't feel that way, not sure if she represents the Indian Nation or not, but it kind of seemed she did, or if not wanted to, or was aiming to, trying to, wishing she could (something like that). But from the one letter I got from someone from a tribe, I don't think she was, he sounded much more pleasant, less with the insults (matter of fact no insults, sorry if I implied so) more on the intrinsic philosophical side of things; you might say, more well breed. She has a mouth on her I'll tell you (a devil in disguise - like Elvis' song), and being, or trying to be a professional, it would seem ethically destructive to be so emotional over our two little letters. I mean, her unwinding was not caused by my article on the Indians, rather I'd think on my response to her that I felt I'd never had made any polices; and had I given compensation, it would not go on forever, as it seems it has. Anyhow, it makes for a good article today; and she's a public figure, a person the public looks at - my gosh, and with such a nasty mouth; either she's a born-again goofball working on an ego trip, or free advertisement; or just plain dim and she's letting her emotions get the best of her (calm down Alyce, this is called life, it is not worth a heart attack, or a hate run; my best advise as a professional counselor, is seek help). I am not the only person out of 300-million in America that feel this way my dear lady; possibly some may write you after this humble letter of mine informing you of this [I want to say woman, but I can not force myself to]. You don't have to like what I write, its part of the soil you are standing on dear. In a like manner, I will respect your right to be wrong.

This is not Iraq Alyce, we have the 1st Amendment here and a democracy (but I'm sure people like you would like to take that away also), the right to an opinion, and fact, the fact is, is that we are still paying out, out and out; a right to not want to be the target of a tax burden for 200-years is my right, and every American who feels the same way, right. I do not speak for America, I speak for me. I have nothing against Indians, matter of fact the person that wrote me, addressed me as a Native, because I was born here, not because I was Indian, a lot more respect than you have given them, or me. Had you respected them, you would not have done your insulting: you do them no favors I hate to tell you by your mannerisms. And they will never accomplish their goal with people like you. But this is fine, when a person has lost the fight (like you), they always resort to name calling. So do as you please, I got it from Americans while in Vietnam, and lived through it I can get it from Iraqi's also. Actually I'm happy for Iraq, I hope we blast the hell out of the insurgents (you possibly have more compassion for them than I do).

A fine person emailed me and told me - feeling it was wrong of you - yes one of your previous admirers, said you had put me on your website, "good," I said to myself. Anyhow, she felt it was wrong, for you used such words as "Stupid idiot." I wrote your admirer back, for she had your site, not me, and told her, "It was what I'd have expected from her (and thanked her for her kindness)."

Your arrogance and pride will be your down fall.

- Reviewing her demands and comments, she seemed to imply that I change my tone to my protest on moneys the tribes get from the Casino. I have to agree she is as deadlocked as I am, on this issue (for and against; maybe we should take a national referendum on this matter; and if the people say tax us more, well, I'll just live with it; and if they say "no more tax," you and your Indian friends live with it. Sounds like a good deal to me, but you wouldn't want to do that, you'd lose.)

I just didn't insult her, not at first anyhow in my emails, as she did to me. But I maybe a little guilty in that area the second time, the second email, I did use a few degrading names for her (I know I shouldn't, but its just part of me when I get a double follow-up); but not publicly, and I suppose that provoked her putting me on her website as the evil one; oh well, bad publicity can be good also. So make sure Alyce you spell my name right [Dennis L. Siluk], I like the "L" in there, don't forget, and I look forward to your friends emails; I have faith in you, that you will be mentioning my name some more. You never know what little source of wind creates the hurricane........"peace," and may the Lord slap your nasty little tongue and save your soul.
