Sept. 27, 2004 So that recently ended romance has you feeling a great sense of loss and leaves you with a lot of alone time. What if that person with whom you once shared so much of yourself wants to remain friends. Would you want to stay friends or make a clean break. Making that clean break involves no contact with the other person, no telephone calls, no emails, no snail mail.While on the course of the clean break, take some time to regain your emotions and visit old friends who might have been placed on the back burner, they will appreciate having you around again. Of course if you happen to spot that person with whom you recently ended your affiliation across a crowded room some time after the break up, then politeness takes over in the form of a nod or half a smile. Remaining friends, on the other hand can be a bit different. For while an intimate part of your once close relationship is over, a certain portion of yourself gets some relief knowing that the special person, still cares enough to maintain social contact, but what if while on the road of friendship, you meet someone with whom you would like to spend more of your time. At some point you will have to tell that person who was once special to you what is taking place. Then depending on the person, a little amount of concern might come into play as you contemplate. And as you consider and weigh the matter in your mind, the matter of the clean break comes back to take up residence in your thoughts.
