Sept. 26, 2004 The National Museum of the American Indian in Washington has opened up an exhibit that shows the Indian, or Semi-Native American Indian's culture from their perspective if you will, and/or heart [as they would put it I do believe] and mind which I say is about time [I say "semi" since now we all know there has been other cultures in America before them, actually Caucasian dating 9000 BC, that might have migrated from the areas around Japan, etc. So the bones have attested to after CB14-dating]; as I was saying, the exhibit is of their culture from their perspective and point of view - great! And if there was an Atlantis, or another red skinned culture in the Atlantic [which the Atlanteon was] then they would have been here 9600 BC [which many have claimed to have found artifacts to such a view], and it has been said the Maya, or even Mexican cultures [Aztecs] were living in American, all the way to the Colorado area before the Indians arrived; to include cultures around New Hampshire, at what they call Mystery Hill [a Megalithic site, dating 2000 between 13,000 BC], an area the Indians know little about, and would not be conducive to their live styles. And let's not forget the mounds, the most well known being Serpent Mound, which the Indians of that area have claimed they fell upon, not knowing where it came from, and thus, built a mound somewhat close to it. Not sure why, built it possibly to claim it as theirs. But I am glad of this. I just wish in Minnesota they'd pay some taxes at the cessions like everybody else in Minnesota who owns a business, and not have us taxpayers continue to flip the bill for them. You'd think after we allowed them to have fishing rights over whites, and free Federal monies, besides no taxes on casinos, they'd be grateful, but they are not. And to be quite honest, this ownership thing of we being here first or before you [you: implying: me] is getting old. We are all Americans, be it Semi-Americans [Indians], or immigrants from Europe or the flood of Mexicans and Asians we've been having, along with Central Americans. Were all a pot of crickets trying to pay taxes, keep a job and go see the exhibit at the Washington D.C. Museum? Casinos: this is old news that never gets taken care of. But maybe we got some hope with Gov. Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota. I am tired of paying taxes to support lazy Indians. Like anyone else in Minnesota, they can pay their share of taxes. If you want to live on a reservation, then feed yourself, or have the Casino do it, but this is the 21st century, they have thrown enough down my garbage swear, and I've paid dearly since I've been 14-years old, and I'm 56 now, 40-years of paying to feed, upkeep their reservations. Enough is enough. And according to Patrick Sweeney of the Pioneer Press, "Indian tribes receive between $1 Billion and $2 billion annually in net revenue form 18 casinos." (25% of that could help out the tax payers dearly; but I'm sure that never occurred them, take, take that is all I see.). That is with the 11-tibes in the state. Pawlenty says: "That needs to change," so change it, what are you waiting for? do you think the Indians are going to put it in you lap and thank you, after they've gotten this welfare gift for 20-years, or is it 200. You're the top dog, change it. And on top of that they get Federal aid; unbelievable. California and Connecticut tax up to 25% of such income, the freeloading should stop, and I support the Pawlenty all the way, I just hope he don't chicken out and hightail it backwards. ------------ About the author: Mr. Siluk is a world traveler, a lover of the mysteries around the world, and has visit many World Heritage Sites, the most recent being Easter Island and the Galapagos.
