Sept. 24, 2004 There have been many different thoughts about the beginnings of Al Qaida. Some placed them back as far as 50 years ago. Other schools of thought placed them sometime in the 1990’s. I would like to shed some light on when and where they came to be. I think that some of you may be surprised as to how they came into existence, but not by how powerful and influential they still remain. Their power and destructive influence have been reported almost daily in the various forms of media around the globe. From the web site www.ict.org I found that Al Qaida came into being about the same time that the Soviets began their invasion into Afghanistan. That was 1988 and during Regan’s administration. Their (Al Qaida’s) core group of leaders was, and is, Afghan war veterans from all over the Muslim world. Their leader is the Saudi outcast Osama Bin Laden. Before Osama became the powerful rogue that he now is his family enjoyed the company and friendship of the Bush’s. As a matter of fact, George W. Bush was partners with Osama’s brother, Salem, in the founding of the Arbusto Energy Company and the build-up and collapse of the BCCI in the great state of Texas. George W. and the Bin Laden family remained loyal friends until the freak flying accident near San Antonio, TX. ended Salem’s life in May of 1988. Coincidence or conspiracy? You be the judge. (www.americanfreepress.net) Salem’s death many have been a minor setback, but the Bush and Bin Laden clan continued to do business well into 2001 under the cautious direction of a close business associate, Frank Carlucci, who was also the former Reagan Administration’s Defense Secretary. (www.texasobserver.org) Al Qaida’s primary goal is to replace corrupt Muslim states with Islamic Law. (www.ict.org) Bin Laden’s version of Islam is to use the most violent and confrontational methods to enforce their service to Allah. (www.rotten.com) They (Al Qaida) are intensely anti-western and view the United States as the ultimate enemy of Islam, but that was not always the case. During the Afghan war the CIA handed over $500 million dollars, with the blessing of Ronald Reagan and his staff, per year to arm and train these men (Al Qaida) to fight against the Soviets. (www.ict.org, www.rotten.com ) At that time Osama Bin Laden was extremely well connected and funded, he was definitely one of the CIA’s chosen ones. Armed with our government’s dollars, the latest and greatest weapons and technology it is no wonder they were successful against the Soviets. After the war in Afghanistan many of Osama’s followers returned to their homelands and led productive lives. However, there are those that have followed in the footsteps of Osama Bin Laden. When he moved into Sudan, they moved with him. When he opened business after business in Sudan they worked for and with him. Later, he was ousted from Sudan under mounting pressure from the U.S., who had once been his most staunch supporter, and fled back into the safety and security of Afghanistan where they are free to continue his quest against America and the Jews. (www.itc.org) The question is where is Osama and why don’t we have him? Perhaps the Bush clan can shed some light on that issue.
