Sept. 21, 2004 Despite all evidence to the contrary, John Kerry’s campaign denies all links to Dan Rather’s and CBS’ forged document sandal. Before agreeing to release the forged documents to CBS, Bill Burkett (Dem Bush-hater and Rather’s ostensible ‘unimpeachable source’ for the story) insisted that Mary Mapes (Rather’s producer) place him in touch with Kerry-campaign officials. Mapes arranged for Max Cleland and Joe Lockhart (Kerry’s current campaign manager) to speak with Burkett. Burkett spoke with both Lockhart and Cleland, prior to the story airing. To make this linkage even more interesting, the DNC Bush-bash piece “Fortunate son” was then prep’d and scheduled to air shortly after Rather presented the fake document story on ’60 Minutes II’. The CBS Rather story aired and the DNC released its “Fortunate Son” TV smear, which is based upon the faked story. If there is still some poor remaining soul out there who believes that there was no coordination between the bogus CBS Rather story and the John Kerry campaign, he or she has had one too many Kool-Aids today. The DNC, Kerry campaign, Rather and CBS still insist there was no coordination amongst them. But, it was Rather’s producer Mapes who arranged said coordination. Lies, denials and gallons upon gallons of Kool-Aid…the Democrat legacy. Any questions? I didn’t think so. ------------ About the author: About the author: Sher Zieve is a Conservative political commentator, appeared on the CBS program "Mysteries of the Millennium", has been included in "Who's Who in the West", "Who's Who in the US" and "Who's Who in Entertainment".
