Sept. 17, 2004 Looking at the way things are improving in the underprivilegded countries, one cannot but conclude that the leaders that are meant to be the shepherd, are the lions tearing their sheeps apart. Education, that is meant to be the right of every citizen has been turned into the sole right of the rich and the influential. The little number of the poor that goes to school does so by promising their parents that they will pay back the debt after graduating. What a world. Growing up among the poor and the hopeless have opened my eyes to the atrocities committed by those we have elected into the helm of affair. Will I call that an election or selection? Only God can answer that. The situation is so worst that eating a three day meal is like travelling to a place without money. Conclusively, like an obedient daughter I want to give my situational report. The rich are getting richer while, the poor are getting poorer. It's as simple as that. With no hope of getting freedom from the mighty shepherd turned oppressor. Only God can save. ------------ About the author Olamide Ayeni: A 21 year old female.
