Sept. 14, 2004 CBS “expert” Marcel Matley continues to distance himself from CBS’ and Rather’s Document-gate. In a Washington Post interview, Matley confirmed that he had been asked, by Dan Rather and CBS, to examine only former LTC Jerry Killian’s signature. In regards to the actual documents, Matley stated: "There's no way that I, as a document expert, can authenticate them." Another document expert, Joseph M. Newcomer, stated: "I am personally 100 percent sure that they are fake." Newcomer, who has written books on Microsoft Word formatting, advised that he had been able to effectively produce identical replicas of the CBS documents using MS Word formatting and Times New Roman font. Look like another CBS source bites the dust. But, CBS and Rather still continue their stonewalling. This is one of those situations where I feel compelled to offer my definition of pathological liars: “Those who will tell lies, even when the truth would save their lives”; or in this situation their reputations. It appears that neither CBS nor Rather care. To them, the protection of the lies seems to be of paramount importance. My own supposition is that if CBS and Rather actually do admit what they’ve done, they would have to reveal their source or sources. I doubt that the revelation would be favorable to John Kerry and his campaign. In fact, should the truth EVER come out in regards to this fraud, it just might be over for Monsieur Kerry. I hold the strong opinion that the DNC/Kerry campaign is behind this. Remember, going back many years, even Ann Richards campaign tried to “get something” detrimental on George W. Bush’s Military records. She and her campaign found nothing. For additional years, the DNC has trued to find something and they could not. This time, however, my personal deduction (and that of many others) is that they made it up. Computers and MS Word are great tools! Guess it took them 4 years to try to get LTC Jerry Killian’s signature right. Unfortunately for the DNC and Kerry campaign, it wasn’t good enough.
