The Sins of the Father [Part 2]

By L.J. Chapman
Sept. 6, 2004

I am sitting here once again appalled at the civil rights in Massachusetts. I am tired and I've twice bashed my head off the computer desk. There is a no win situation for my family in the type of life that we will lead when my father is released from Bridgewater Psychiatric Hospital in May. There is no changing it. And that is horribly frustrating.

I've done the saddest thing of my life today. I gave my mother a list of states that her and my father can move to where he can be safe. 90% of the states are hundreds or even thousands of miles from here, where I'll be.

So my father, who as I said before, did not commit the crime he was accused of, will be out of Massachusetts, therefore making it a safer, happier Commonwealth. There is no other phrase for this except: This sucks.

It sucks to have someone you love be not only convicted of a crime that he didn't commit, no only to be placed in a mental institution for x-amount of time, but to also have him have to leave state because he is not safe where he is. I guess there are no rights for prisioners. I guess that once you go in, you don't get to be a better person again or do what you need to do. You're just a criminal now. You're worth nothing.

There is a disclaimer on any internet sex offender registry site that you are not to harm the offender in any way and it's to be used ONLY for informational purposes. All those who think that that kind of fairy tale kind of disclaimer will hold, raise your hand. Oh, but if you don't listen to the disclaimer and you harass or harm and offender, you can get a fine. A FINE!! I know people who can't even jay walk without going to jail and the state has no problem giving fines to people who harass or harm offenders. Well that's good. Who needs them anyway. No victim ever lies. Nobody has ever cried rape for no reason, no child has ever lied about molestation. It never happens, so let's kill the offenders off, and while we're at it, don't forget to pick off their families too.

I know for a fact I am really going against the grain with this one. I know that I am going against the so-called greater good. I have gotten alot of flack for everything I say, especially when I say it out in public, like this. But I think there are some civil liberties being killed here. If you start taking away one type of person's liberties, then who's liberties will go next. Will it be your liberties? What are they gonna take away and from who? How close to a Big Brother society are we? Think about that before you call me crazy.
