Sept. 5, 2004 I'm going to talk about it. I'm going to talk about love. No one likes it. Valentine's Day is a sham and there's no such thing as a soul mate. Ah, to live in such a world. I'm listening to a CD I burned right now simply entitled "J". It's all of the little love songs. The lost love songs, the found love songs, the longing love songs. LOVE! I don't know what everyone else feels but I feel it. No other emotion has such extremes as love. I actually learned in psychology that hate is a form of love. Now, that's an extreme. But to look at the word itself, it's so loaded and unloaded at the same time. Define love. To have a positive emotion towards something or someone. I love pasta. But that's not the same as I love my kids. There's plutonic love, puppy love, and in love. There's pure unadulterated can't live without you love, and there's the "hey you're my friend and I love you" love. So many different things for one simple emotion. People kill for love. For the love of another, for the love of God. But they kill for it. People die for it. They commit suicide for love or stand in the path of a bullet for it. Any mother would understand that. So I guess the point of my article today is to tell you that before you say the word love, think of how you really mean it. People get hurt when it's used wrong. But if you mean it, then people get happy when it's used right. So there, good luck. ------------ About the author L.J. Chapman: I am 24 years old and I live in Massachusetts with my two children.
