Sept. 3, 2004 I don't typically write about news or politics, but the hostage situation in Russia has just gotten to me so much, I had to say something. There were 1,020 hostages in a Russian school being held by Chezan captors. The seige ended today with over 100 fatalities... many of them being children. Small, innocent children are dead. And for what? A political statement? Money? Who cares what the reason was, the point is these people are dead... men, women, children, all with families who are now dying inside themselves. We have this situation, we have Iraq, September 11th, the hostages being killed in Iraq. What is going on with this planet? For shame to all of the human race. We're killing each other off for reasons that no matter what God you are dealing with, I can guarentee that He is not real big into killing other people. Dinosaurs became extinict because of the ice age... or they killed each other off in some sort of Jurassic Jihad. That's what's going to happen to the human race... we're all just going to kill each other off. We're slowly turning into this violent, numb race of beings that doesn't get as upset about the news as our grandparents did. There is no more safety, there is no more security. You have to keep your doors locked. Women need to take Rape Defense Courses. Children are bringing guns and bombs to school and killing each other off. WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THIS WORLD? They always said it starts with one. So, I'll be the first. Time to stop. Time to get the world back to the way it needs to be. The people who read this are from all over the place, so if everyone does one thing, maybe, just maybe, we won't have 100 people killed again. Maybe we won't have another Columbine. Someone has to do something and its time to stop looking around at other people to get it started and just do it. ------------ About the author L.J.
