Sept. 2, 2004 This is regards to Mr. Eric Schomburg's comments about Zell Miller. Mr. Schomburg, I think you have totally missed the point in regards to what Mr. Miller was saying, he wasn't attacking you personally or a poet or whatever, he was just saying that it is the troops that are the priority of what makes us free. I think that you may have jumped before you figured out you couldn't swim. I have read your other columns and they hit home, even the wrestling one, and I especially appreciate the column about how you like women who eat, but the column you wrote about Zell Miller was false. I did watch the Chris Matthews interview with Zell Miller and I can tell you that Zell Miller had every right to tell that blonde haired moron to shut up. I'm sure by now you're getting tons of hate mail from everyone, but I assure you that they are just-caused, because you really did miss the bullseye on this one. I read your column and I do understand where you could have mistaken Mr. Zell Miller's angry speech as a direct attack to others, but I assure you it wasn't a direct attack. I do hope that you will explain your actions, because you seem like a very intelligent person; however, I think you being young also made you naive. For those that are giving Eric a ton of hate mail, probably calling stupid or whatever, you're just doing the same thing he did. You're missing the point and instead jumping to conclusions. You're no different than he is. So, if he's stupid, so are you. I believe that Eric misinterpret what Zell Miller was saying. Give him a break! This election is getting hot and heavy and I think Eric was just caught up in the moment. We all have.
