Oct. 29, 2004 Osama bin Laden has reappeared. Seems I was wrong. He isn't been Deaden. Not yet, anyway. The question still hasn't been answered, however: Why did it take him three years to recharge his camcorder batteries? I think the answer is that he's been too busy hiding in caves and he's horribly depressed. Look at him and listen to him. His organization has been weakened. He's a crushed man. He might as well have been buried in Tora Bora. Instead of crashing airliners into buildings, he's reduced to bad-mouthing George W. Bush and taunting him with lines from a Michael Moore movie! How pathetic can Osama bin Laden get? And how much of an indictment of the Michael Moore mentality is that, by the way? He's reduced to hiding in caves or being sequestered in Iran where he can't be seen by anybody or it would give us a good excuse to nuke Teheran. And as for bin Laden using reverse English, pretending to attack Bush to cause us to think he wants Kerry so we will vote for Bush because he really wants Bush--heck, you sort it out. I'm getting myself confused. Those who think Kerry would be better at uniting the world against terrorism are simply not facing facts, those facts being that the rest of the world isn't much interested in fighting terrorism, they are into appeasing it. They aren't into opposing Saddam, they were taking his money to the bank. They weren't interested in disarming terrorists, they were supplyiing weapons. Kerry was never interested in mobilizing anyone against terrorists--or communists, for that matter. He's been into appeasing them or actively lobbying for them his entire career and even before. OK, I was wrong about bin Laden's being dead. But trust me on this one: He hates George W. Bush. That's good enough reason to vote for him. ------------ About the author Brooks A.
