Oct. 29, 2004 The Forest Listen to the quiet of the forest Silent raindrops kiss the leaves The sun shines through like golden rings The forest deep, dark, and green There; a beauty all its own Slowly it turns an apple green It holds a beauty I've never seen. The forest soldiers green, and tall Here in my mind In my dreams Hiding creatures big, and small. Gold To my treasures, I love you always. Like sunshine in winter And storm clouds at sea Poetry and my family Fashion me. A poem is gold And from the soul But the treasures that I hold Are my children and their own My infinite gold. ------------ About the author Kathy Lynn Blaylock: I am a single mother of four beautiful young women.
