Oct. 28, 2004 With flu shots in such short supply this season, I am sure some of you are wondering what you can do to avoid an onslaught of the virus from afflicting a body near you. First, to bolster up your immune system, stock up on some fruits and vitamin C, for I am certain that you are already aware of this, but fruits contain an abundance of that particular vitamin . And when you arrive home after a stroll through your local mall or public event, wash your hands, for whatever items and escalator rails and elevator buttons you have touched, will have already been touched by one or many who may already have the flu or some other contagious virus. If, on the other hand, you have discovered that you may already have a slight touch of the flu, get some rest, for in this busy age in which we live, that is probably what you need. And if you also have an itchy, congested throat, try some 'Vicks Vapor Rub' for that is also very helpful, for it will clear up the congestion, thus allowing you to breathe easier, and will bring back your sense of smell. With the arrival of cold weather, you will also need the above mentioned tips, for in winter, or fall your body needs to fight off those weather related elements so you can remain strong for what some weather experts have forecasted to be a rather cold and wet season. ------------ About the author Judy Ramsook: My first book titled: "Karen's Adventure" which is about two young girls who go in search of their missing parents, is now available.
