Oct. 28, 2004 On http://dictionary.reference.com, I can type a word and get a definition. Words have been thrown around a lot over my lifetime and sometimes I need a reminder of what those words mean. Yes, sometimes even I have to look stuff up. Here are a few words I looked up, that have been used in this election. These definitions are taken straight from the above web site. "fear ( P ) Pronunciation Key (fîr) n. A feeling of agitation and anxiety caused by the presence or imminence of danger. A state or condition marked by this feeling: living in fear. A feeling of disquiet or apprehension: a fear of looking foolish. Extreme reverence or awe, as toward a supreme power. A reason for dread or apprehension: Being alone is my greatest fear. "Main Entry: ter·ror·ism Pronunciation: 'ter-&r-"i-z&m Function: noun 1 : the unlawful use or threat of violence esp. against the state or the public as a politically motivated means of attack or coercion 2 : violent and intimidating gang activity —ter·ror·ist /-ist/ adj or noun —ter·ror·is·tic /"ter-&r-'is-tik/ adjective" "economy n 1: the system of production and distribution and consumption [syn: economic system] 2: the efficient use of resources; "economy of effort" 3: frugality in the expenditure of money or resources; "the Scots are famous for their economy" [syn: thriftiness] 4: an act of economizing; reduction in cost; "it was a small economy to walk to work every day"; "there was a saving of 50 cents" [syn: saving]" These definition have helped me. Also the website can be used as a thesaurus. Sometimes I do make mistakes and forget to look things up but don't all of us make mistakes? ------------ About the author: Being a full time writer is the hardest job that I have tried.
