Oct. 26, 2004 On the heels of the phony CBS Dan Rather forged document story, the NY Times picked up where See B.S. left off. A NY Times front-page story referenced “missing explosives” in Al-Qaqaa Iraq, which it claimed were not adequately monitored by our troops under President Bush’s watch. The problem is that this story was fabricated by the NY Times and, apparently, in conjunction with…you guessed it…CBS’ 60 Minutes! When our troops entered Iraq, one of the first things they did was to check A-Qaqaa for a large weapons cache they had heard about. Guess what? IT WASN’T THERE! It had, apparently, been moved before we got there! Now, even though the NY Times story has been discredited (and with great irony by one of its own-NBC), the Kerry campaign is STILL running with it and lying to the public that it’s true! Even for John Kerry and John Edwards, purporting a lie as truth (and a lie that one of your own media members has said is a lie) proves that they can reach even ‘lower lows’ than had ever been thought. This was the “John Kerry October Surprise”. The dilemma that Kerry and Edwards have encountered is that they are, now, forced to live with a lie that has been exposed; the lie that they appear to have concocted with their mainstream media. Instead of admitting it, Kerry and Edwards are, as usual, hoping that their faithful have drunk enough Kerry Kool-Aid not to notice. And, to add insult to injury, the Kerry campaign is planning to run TV Ads (in the battleground states) based on this lie! I have never seen such a despicable pair, running for office, in my lifetime. No sane person would vote for them. But, the Kerry campaign, since its inception, has counted on the ‘insane voter’. We can only pray there aren’t as many of those as there are of us! ------------ About the author: About the author: Sher Zieve is a Conservative political commentator.
