Oct. 22, 2004 Why oh why is the Democratic party shooting themselves in the foot? First, I hear Teresa Heinz Kerry saying that Laura Bush never had a real job or worked a day in her life? Laura Bush is probably the only first lady that I can honestly say has class. Hilary Clinton? Class? Reminds me of the joke my history professor told me. “What do you get when you combine a draft dodger with a female dog? Chelsea Clinton.” Get it? I don’t see where Mrs. Kerry could talk, because I don’t think she had to work a day in her life. As I do recall, she is pretty much the Paris Hilton of the food company; you know, lives off of the money, but doesn’t lift a finger to earn it. Maybe you should put some ketchup on your words, Mrs. Kerry, and eat them. I was watching a news debate between a Democratic congressman, Charles Rangel, and a couple of anchormen. This guy is a complete joke. Who is this guy? Al Sharpton’s brother? Who’s Charles Rangel you may ask? Oh nobody in particular, just the guy who tried to pass the bill for a draft. Yep, you guessed it, a DEMOCRAT wanted the draft in effect; however, just like Kerry, Rangel voted against it. He voted against his own bill!? And why did he do it? Because out of 404 people voting that day, 402 voted against the draft and the right wing of congress hissed at Rangel for even thinking of such a thing. And he said in the debate with the anchormen that he wasnted congress to vote against his own bill. WHAT?! Was New York on drugs during election time? If that wasn’t enough, John F. Kerry, decided to state that if Bush gets back in office than he will bring the draft back in effect. Bush seemed puzzled and offended. “There’s not going to be a draft, period.” Kerry is using fear to scare us into voting for him. If Bush wanted a draft in, how come he had a whole year to put it in effect? Winter of 2003 I believe is when congress voted, and 402 congressmen voted against it. Bush and Cheney never questioned Kerry’s Vietnam days, in fact they praised him for it. However, Kerry has attacked Cheney’s daughter for her sexuality, Bush’s Vietnam days, and even got his wife to say the things about Laura Bush. Trust me, John Kerry set his own wife to do his dirty work, just like John Edwards, and just like Ted Kennedy. If you’re a Kerry fan, by all means, vote for him if you think he’s going to be the candidate for you; however, I can’t trust a guy who has no sense of direction, rude, and lies. If anything, if you vote Kerry, you WILL have a draft. The Republicans voted against the draft, but who says Kerry won’t reintroduce it? We are just weeks away from election, you better think long and hard who you want as your commander-in- chief. I know who I’m going to vote for, and it’s certainly not the guy who may make the same mistakes as the war he protested against. Talk about a flip-flopper. ------------ About the author Eric Schomburg: Visit http://www.geocities.com/schomburg2002.
