Teresa Heinz Kerry: Teaching Isn't A Real Job

By Lee Zelhart
Oct. 21, 2004

What is it with Democrats? Especially the women? If you are female and don't work outside the home you aren't a person? When did this happen? Yeah, Teresa Heinz Kerry has more experiences in life, but gee I didn't know she was that freakin' old.

Laura Bush, on the otherhand...well, I suppose if she isn't currently sitting in a corner office overseeing the labors of millions of children in sweat shops in China, Tiajan, Tymbuctoo and whatever else third world country where they make Heinz ketchup and pickles she isn't a real person.

I'll bet Teresa Heinz Kerry never saw the inside of a kitchen except to fire the cook and maybe not even that. That isn't the point though. The Hillary Clinton attitude isn't cute anymore. Mrs. Bush, by the way, used to be a teacher.

Last time I looked teaching was a profession. As a matter of fact several members of my family are, or were teachers. I have worked as a substitute teacher. I'm rather proud to say I've tried to help our young people and if you don't think teaching is a job, Mrs. (Jolly John Heinz) Kerry you should try it.

It is very insulting to imply someone not working as not having a value as a person. I resent it. I had been out of work for awhile and am back now, but did that make me a nonperson? My mother didn't work outside the home until we were mostly grown. I don't see her as a nonperson all those years. She put a lot of time in doing volunteer work as a room mother and den mother and various things at church. Wasn't that important? I think it was.

I happen to think there's nothing wrong with being a stay at home mom. I've done it for awhile, but hey, Mrs. KERRY, I didn't have much choise...my wife is DEAD. I have to fill in that roll. You probably know her though, she's probably registered to vote three, or four times for your husband next month.
