John Kerry Can Make People Walk Out Of Their Wheelchairs?

By Lee Zelhart
Oct. 13, 2004

Does it speak ill of me that I didn't watch either, or any Presidential debate? I mean I watched the Vice Presidential debate, but only to see if I could see John Kerry's lips move when John Edwards spoke (Okay, that was mean. Maybe I'm more liberal then I thought.).

Actually, I suppose part of that is I pretty much know what was going to be said. Okay, I might be guessing, but I suppose basically Mr. Bush was going to be going over what he'd done and John Kerry was going to be reading his lines out of his dogeared copy of the party's little red (play) book. Nothing new there.

As far as stem cell research...President Bush is the only president to fund such research and it seems the press has amnesia as far as that goes. Of course if Mr. Bush were a DEMOCRAT Dandy Dan Rather, Ted Koppel, Peter Jennings, et al, would be on the rooftops of their respective network headquarters with the loud speakers turned up full blast roaring the news from now until after the election. You betcha!

Now, as for victims of spinal cord injuries walking out of their chairs if Jolly John was president...okay, I want to see him walk on water first. They interviewed one of these supposed beneficiaries on the radio. He said the doctors neither held that out as a promise for a cure for spinal cord injuries and the research was only being done for things like Parkenson's disease. They also interviewed the doctor in St. Louis who'd been working with Christopher Reeve and he said the same thing. Hmmm!

So, I guess Mr. Kerry. If you can make people with spinal cord injuries walk out of their wheelchairs, let's start with laying on of hands. Start a little slow Johnny. Warm up a little. Then again if you could do that why are you wasting time running for president? You would be too busy to cure people. You're needed right now, or would you just be able to speak a word and do that?

If you can do that, why not now? would you only gain that power if elected president? Wow!Hey, maybe Mr. Bush has that power. What? He doesn't? Gee, does that only work on liberals? Well then why didn't Bill Clinton heal people (Yeah, I know, he did a lot of laying on of hands. That didn't count.)

Well, anyway, I guess listening to the debates wouldn't have been any more then amusement for a little while and if I wanted to hear any political jokes I could just watch Letterman.
