Oct. 12, 2004 This may be a little harsh, I’m sure John Edwards hasn’t yet reached that level of evil. This is not to say he’s not on his way. For those unfamiliar with Dr. Mengele, he was one of the Nazi Parties most infamous butchers of WW II. His experiments on handicapped children were well documented. Dr. Mengele would entice children into his experimental lab with the promise of curing their affliction then murder them using their body parts for his experiments. His later claims it was in the interests of Science. For John Edwards to leave the impression stem cell research is advanced far enough to allow people in wheelchairs to get up and walk is the worst from of hypocrisy. Stem cell technology is years from producing any positive results to cure any of the following; Juvenile diabetes, Parkinson’s, Spinal cord disabilities or any of the many afflictions John Edwards’s claims is just around the corner. His is only a political strategy it has no basis. Kerry / Edwards will use any situation regardless of the effect on the suffering to gain politically. Not all the scientific community agrees on the benefits of stem cell research. The gap is far enough apart to proceed with caution. That is exactly what the President’s suggesting. Fact, President Bush has funded Stem cell research. Fact, President Bush hasn’t stopped stem cell research. What President Bush has stopped is opening the back door to cloning human beings. This is more about the twenty-first century Dr. Mengele’s practicing their mad science than about curing ailments. Scientific research like Politics is a lifetime career. The more you stretch it out the longer your employed. Privately funded stem cell research is still legal. The combined bank accounts of Kerry / Heinz / Edwards is to say the least sizeable. If it’s all that important to you Two-John’s and a Teresa put up some of your own dollars. There’s a down side to all this modern medicine keeping people alive for hundreds of years isn’t really a good idea. I’m seventy-three years old. I hear my relatives whispering, wondering when the old SOB is going to hang it up. Who the hell wants old Uncle Ken around for another three quarters if a century? God created birth and death, at the time of creation God made no previsions for man to have a predator. God realizing his error and not wanting to add any additional critters to earth decided on a few diseases to level out the population keeping things in balance. Little did God realize at he time how mans brain would foul up his plan. Not the Old Testament or the United States Constitution guarantees a person will live healthy and happy forever. John Kerry said, “ I will appoint Judges to the Supreme Court who assure the constitution followed the Law.” Excuse me? I thought the constitution based on Gods law was the only law. Has liberalism gone so far adrift they no longer understand what the founding fathers intended for their new nation. “ We the people should mean just that. We the people”.
