Oct. 11, 2004 Why in the world did John Kerry decide to run for the presidency, in the first place? With little to no understanding (let alone a grasp) on salient world and domestic issues Monsieur Kerry, nonetheless, decided to run for President of the United States. Both Kerry and his would be VP running mate continually say they have ‘plans for everything’ and that they would do their jobs ‘better than President Bush and VP Cheney’. Instead of explaining those “plans”, both Dem candidates refer people to their website whenever these plans are questioned. Is the reason for this that the Kerry plans continue to change as many times as Kerry changes his positions; so that the Kerry-site webmaster has to constantly re-do them? Or, is it that, as these “plans” have been written by others, neither Kerry nor Edwards really know what they are? Does Kerry leave the development of these elusive plans to his man-servants? The reason that John Kerry is running for president is that he wants to be president. Since the Viet Nam war, in which Kerry brought cameras to ‘record his heroic behavior for posterity’, he has been on a one way path toward the presidency. Despite his lackluster Massachusetts Lt. Governorship under Mondale and his do-nothing performance as the 20-year junior Senator from MA, he feels “entitled” to the Presidency of the United States. The mainstream press, of course, is pushing for him and has proved that it will do anything and everything to assist him in his quest. CBS’ forged memos against President Bush, ABC’s now-infamous memo instructing its reporters to ‘go soft on Kerry and get Bush’ and all of the MSM print media endorsing Kerry merely underlines their rampant bias. During the second town-hall formatted presidential debate, when Kerry was presented questions from the audience he seldom answered them. Instead of answering the questions, he continued his tirades against President Bush. During an election, tirades against the opponent are expected. But, so are answers to questions. Kerry also continues to lie about what Republicans have said. An example was that, during ‘debate 2’, he erroneously quoted Sen. Richard Lugar as having said ‘President Bush’s Iraq policy has been incompetent’. Despite the fact that Sen. Lugar has appeared on national television and said that Kerry’s statement is patently false, Kerry continues with the lie; just one amongst many. Kerry has proven, time and again, that he will lie straight-faced to enhance his position. When caught in his lies, the media refuses to report them; this has been consistent throughout the Kerry-Edwards campaign. The MSM attitude is ‘the public will believe anything and everything we tell it or don’t tell it’. A corrupt media can do all manner of damage. They are proving it and we are seeing it every day. So, again why does Kerry want to be president? Because, he believes it’s part of his entitlement and he wants it. That’s all. If we want a leader for President of the United States, we won’t get one in Kerry. Placing his own presidency on the line, President Bush has shown courage and resolve in both protecting the US and helping to make it much more prosperous. President Bush has implemented programs for “we the people”. Kerry would institute programs by and for Kerry. After all, he’s already let us know that he deserves the presidency. Why? Because he’s John Kerry! Sorry, John. That’s not even close to being good enough. ------------ About the author: About the author: Sher Zieve is a Conservative political commentator.
