Oct. 5, 2004 After previously insulting Iraqi interim PM Allawi, during the first presidential debate John Kerry used language designed to offend Poland. Per Matt Drudge, Polish President Aleksander Kwasniewski has responded. President Kwasniewski told TVN FACTS: "It is sad that a senator with 20 years of experience underestimates Polish sacrifice, this is sad," and "I do not think this was out of ignorance." President Kwasniewski went on to say: "There is one thing which should be stated clearly: this coalition is not just the United States, Great Britain, Australia alone; it also involves participation of Polish, Ukrainian, Bulgarian and Spanish soldiers who have died. It is immoral not to recognize the involvement we contributed based on our conviction that there should be unity in fighting terrorism, that there was a need to display international solidarity and that Saddam Hussein was a dangerous individual of this world." Whew! At this juncture, we know of at least 3 countries (Iraq, Australia and now Poland) that would NOT be in the ‘Kerry Alliance of Nations’. Will there be more faux pas’ from Kandidate Kerry? President Bush built a 30- nation alliance, which John Kerry seems bound and steadfastly determined to destroy. Is he suffering from terminal foot-in-mouth disease? Is this going to be the subject of, yet, another Kerry excuse of “I was tired and didn’t articulate well”? Or, will it be “I was for Poland before I was against it”? Holy Smokes, man! Have you lost what little mind you had left? Didn’t you mother tell you to play nicely and not insult other countries? This reaches both the heights of insufferable arrogance and the depths of stupidity. And the liberal mainstream press has the impudence to call John Kerry the ‘intelligent candidate’? I think not. As the interview concluded, President Kwasniewski said: "President Bush acted like a real Texan gentleman, he made sure to show appreciation for other countries' involvement in the coalition." Does anyone out there seriously have any residual questions as to which candidate builds and maintains alliances and will actually lead our country? I didn’t think so. ------------ About the author: About the author: Sher Zieve is a Conservative political commentator.
