Oct. 4, 2004 I love macaroni and cheese. Especially the kind with the little TV characters. I can make mac and cheese blindfolded. There are people in my family who will only eat my macaroni and cheese. I make the powdered kind tasty. I am the mac and cheese queen. It's a strange little combination of noodles, dehydrated, powdered cheese product, milk and butter mixed together to make a happy, happy bowl (or plate or sidedish) of food. Everyone should have at least one bowl of Scooby Doo macaroni and cheese before they die... it will make you a little bit happier. You know what else can make you happy? Singing, or being sung to. Or both. Everyone has at least one song that they can sing perfectly. My mom, sister, and cousin, Sunday (that's her name), can do this awesome and tear-jerking acapella rendition of "Amazing Grace". Seriously, you'll get tears in your eyes. It's beautiful. I, myself, found that I can only sing "Mrs. Sullivan" by Caroline Spine without making people cringe. Find a song your good at singing, and sing away. Also, sing any song, at any time as loud as you can. And find a song for every aspect of your life. Find a song that is all your own. That is also fun. That way, when you are listening to the radio, you will hear the song, and become a little bit happier. Every once in a while, stand outside when the sky is blue and a light breeze is blowing and just appreciate it. You'll enjoy it. This one's for the girls, or even the guys if they choose to follow it. Wear glitter a couple times. Glitter is fun. You don't have to go full on crazy with it, just a little near the neck and under your eyes, like a pixie. It makes you feel fun and carefree for the few moments you're standing in front of the mirror looking at yourself. I don't care if you're 86 years old, wear glitter a couple times. Dance. Dance in a club with a bunch of your friends. Dance in your bedroom in front of your mirror. Dance around your kitchen while doing dishes. Just dance. It never hurt anyone. It keeps the adrenaline going and you'll probably be smiling when you are finished. Appreciate all the little things in life that have been put in front of you. Take a moment between work and cleaning and running around to enjoy the tiny things that surround you. The smile or laugh of your child, or any child. The full moon on a starry night. The taste of cold soda on a hot day or hot chocolate on a cold day. Enjoy. Find happiness and peace in these things. It's all about the wonders of the simple things. You were given life, now live. ------------ About the author L.J. Chapman: I am a 24 year old mother of two. I am getting married June 4, 2005 to my fiance', Josh.
