John Kerry Leads George W. Bush [Polls Should Use Warning Labels]

By Lee Zelhart
Oct. 4, 2004

It wasn't unual to see a day, or two after the first presidential debate some clown out there coming up with a poll showing John Kerry with a slight, and I do mean very slight, lead over George W. Bush. Two percent. Plus, or minus points for error usually range from three to seven so this still means President George W. Bush may still be ahead. It just depends on who did the poll.

No poll is ever unbias when it deals with politics. This is a lame excuse by the MSM(Main Stream Media) to prove a point. However, think about this: Where did they conduct the poll. Did they take the poll in the office? Down at the DNC? In Dandy Dan Rather's dressing room? This is why I think polls should include a warning label.

Look, everything else has a label, right?Food, drugs (except of course illicit), movies, television shows, video games. The only thing without any labels are those thing which the press puts out. News, magazines, newspapers and polls. Need I say more. Okay, I will anyway. I didn't need to say that, but hey I did, so get over it.

I mean it's to be expected polls sometimes are a little slanted (hey, have you ever heard of,or read a poll by a concervative group?)considering who does them. I can't recall ever getting a call asking my opinion about a candidate. If they did I have no proof they included my opinion, or they used it if it threw off their outcome any. How many and who do these pollsters ask?

I think the people who take the polls, or pay to have them made, should put warning labels of possible side effects on them. You know reading this poll may cause dizziness and nausea in some sections of the population. Other side effects which might disappear after the election are...you get the idea?

Further, I don't think any polls should be released within thirty days of the election and I think all MSM personnel should wear muzzles within the same time frame. I think by this time in the election cycle everyone is wearing a little thin as far as election coverage. I propose the last should continue until all polls (the ballot kind, the one which counts on election day) are officially closed and all ballots are accounted for and counted.

If Dandy Dan wants to talk about anything let it be something which doesn't have a political ring to it. I could stand a rest by that time. I am getting a little weary of this crap and I'm sure I'm not the only one. I don't even believe they should take straw polls, or exit polls on election day. (Hey, Danny, did you know in the UK, not useless-knowledge, the United Kingdom it is restricted what colors you can wear during election night as each party has a color and the outfit you wear might be seen as trying to influence an election outcome?)

I think that's also a good idea. Make it a law you can't be seen during an election trying to influence an election on a newscast, or in a print media. That way, Dan, you would have to(in the words of me Irish great grandmother)shut yer Gob. Does anyone seem to notice I pick on Jolly John Kerry's favorite hand puppet Dan Rather a lot? Yeah, I thought there was a reason for that. Can you say bias reporting? Can you say gave Florida to Gore before the polls there were closed? I thought you could. Hey, Dan, a reporter is supposed to balance the news. Cappice?

So let's start slapping those labels on polls. It aughta be a law and hey, while we're at it let's slap one on Dan Rather's mouth. That should cut down on a lot of pain, suffering, dizziness, and nausea for a little while. (Can someone take Ted Koppell out for his walk to on the way? He looks like he might need a good B.M..Nuff said, Semper Fi! Oh, By the way Dan, if you want a real news item...my daughter just got engaged.
