Oct. 4, 2004 I read today that Tom Brokaw of NBC is now sitting in the “Camp of Dan Rather” calling the internet attack against the lies of CBS “a kind of political jihad” and “inappropriate”. Too, the Canadian correspondent for ABC turned Canadian-American, Peter Jennings is quoted in the same article: “I don’t think you ever judge a man by one event in his career.” Now, I might agree with that, but Dan (Forge Ahead) Rather has made a career of attacking all things Bush since the time Bush 41 (one event mind you) made the point that old Dan Rather was less than a stellar icon of journalistic objectivism. I might also point out that all three of these men are hypocritically attacking Bush 43 on one single event in his career; that being his honorable service in the Texas National Guard; emphasis on the word “honorable”. All three of these old guys have been in their anchor positions for more than 20 years each. When they were all there was, I personally watched Peter Jennings. I never could watch Dan Rather or Tom Brokaw. I just thought Peter Jennings was less putrefied with liberal dogma and bitterness. Now, you cannot tell any of the three old guys apart, and their collective liberalism reeks of putrid partisanship. (How’s that for poetic intervention?) It is right that Mr. Brokaw and Mr. Jennings protect old Dan the Man, but Mr. Brokaw is leaving the business on December 1st (maybe) and that is probably a good thing concerning his personal legacy. Old Dan will probably hang in until he’s dead or fired. About Mr. Jennings; who really cares? This is a generation of hype-ologists that need to step aside. They have had their say and they’ve had their years of fame as trusted voices for news-hungry America. But they have worn out their welcome by ignoring the worthiness of the “Blogesphere”. The same internet that their personal hero Al Gore invented; has shown these men for the leftist media hacks they’ve become. To hear these three old guys speak of their own importance is an exercise in boredom. Why can’t the famous just go into their sunset? If what they’ve accomplished in life is so fantastically important, surely the rest of the world will ensure their enshrinement in the broadcaster’s hall of fame of France, Germany or Communist China! The fact is, Mr. Jennings and Mr. Brokaw should be investigating Mr. Rather and trying to scoop him on the source of the forgeries that were used by “C-BS” in an attempt to destroy the reputation of a sitting president. I understand they cared less about stained dresses and perjury before a grand jury and obstruction of justice and more about how they could get forged documents to implicate supposed wrongdoing by a president who has only been absolutely forthright about his National Guard service. After all, priorities are priorities. Real crimes by a sitting Democrat President are nothing compared to 30 year old, trumped up charges of AWOL against a sitting Republican President. For three old guys like Rather, Brokaw and Jennings; 30 year old charges are just about fresh news. If the charges (false or even more false) are able to bash Bush, the better! But, no; Brokaw and Jennings will forgive Rather for getting their hopes up and then they will quickly forget the forgeries because further investigation might get their old buddy fired. Mr. Rather’s apology was insincere and full of manure. The support of Mr. Jennings and Mr. Brokaw is another layer of abestos on the attempt to cover several butts that should be being held over the fires of truth. No one is angry here. “C-BS” should be very angry that they were lied to and given forged documents and were forced into a meaningless apology, but they are not angry. They are in total CYA mode and could care less if another person asked another question about forged documents. “C-BS” was fooled. “C-BS” is full of fools. “A-BS” and “N-BS” are complicit in the deceit and the cover-up. Someone should remind Mr. Brokaw and Mr. Jennings that the internet “political jihad” is watching. ------------ About the Author: Michael John McCrae is an Independent, Conservative, Christian who has been personally insulted as a voter because John Kerry thinks the "Heart and Soul of America" lays in the "X-rated sexual innuendo" of Whoopi Goldberg. Well, Michael McCrae thinks America is better than that. Michael McCrae believes there is at least some morality left. So Michael McCrae is going to leave this here (until after the election) as a reminder to all of what John Kerry and John Edwards believe the Real America to be. They believe America's "heart and soul" resides in the "X-rated sexual innuendo" of Whoopi Goldberg. You can draw your own conclusions.
