Things Happen For A Reason

By Tracey Lin O'Very
Nov. 7, 2004

Hi there, You know the night Mr. Editor came to me asking me to write here for useless-knowledge I had gone looking for trouble at a website of a company that has ripped poets and authors off for a while and was going to leave a message on the website there about how I felt about what they had done and then had the nerve to come back to me asking me to order another/more books with my poem featured, which I have never seen nor have others for years, when they had dropped out of sight with my poem and my money as well as hundreds of others like me in our heightened glory of being published and our first time out there into this world of publishing and writing. Taking advantage of our innocence and naive ways. Well there was writers net there instead, so I joined that, first with my name as foolish pride. I later changed it, and then the next day Mr. Editor came and asked me to be a columnist for his magazine here. I didn't think I was a columnist as I had only written poetry all along. But why not "Take a chance, Columbus did." My brother's words there to me.

Writing is fun for me and at that time seemed to be a fun place to write for, here on useless-knowledge. There were articles called useless knowledge and one was about a guy and his sore big toe and the adventures and comments he got about it at his work there from his co workers. There were some really nice poems and stories and it was fun to write here then. Don't see those anymore. I had a few questions for Mr. Editor but forgot to ask one very important question, before I started writing here, although that question has now been answered for me without me asking and when I least expected it. Silly me. My Mistake. You would think that I would have learned after the first experience I had but I guess the innocence and naive ways of that heightened glory will seem to get in the way of rational thinking and thought process as I call it, everytime. I have but one tiny brain cell and in the summer here the temperatures reach near 130 degrees, I call this place Death Valley with a river and a canal, and by July and through the month of August and September I am in nuclear meltdown. So the tiny brain cell melts and there is then no thought process again until the cooler temperatures have solidified my tiny brain cell again. Usually around the end of October. Usually.

I have written articles that have a message in them that no one seems to want to grasp, I have my poems in here with extra thoughts that I want to say to all about my poems and am glad that I am given that chance to do that on here Extra message and plea sometimes. But in the trying times of my life as mentioned here in the New fad article, no one will listen until they are ready to hear and listen. That is really frustrating but I did learn that the hard way which in a way was ok 'cause I now have things written called poetry. I had to take an English class to find that one out here at the college and I met a Wonderful and one of the Best teachers I have had in all the years of school that I did attend. I learned so much in the two hours I spent in his classroom He is great, makes me want to go for the 1/2 credit of English I am missing towards my diploma and Eric has made me want to get the 1/2 credit in government that I am missing. Could have had my diploma. All I had to do is go to school one more day and take those two final exams Two More hours of school and I would have graduated a year early with high honors. But silly me thought it wsa more fun to go to the sand dunes in the dune buggy with my friends. Dummy me!!!

So anyways, everything has it's reasons for happening as I have a poem written called "Stepping Stones" still kept in my duffle bag, and this was a stepping stone to meet some really neat and fun people and go on to another stone in the path of my life here and meet up with some more really neat people. Caring and Sincere ones at both places, that I seem to have met. I consider myself very Fortunate and Lucky and Blessed for that. Thank You All Very Much!! for your kindness and caring and teachings as well. I hope that you will read my poems and articles, and hopefully the words will reach those that I am trying to reach. I have written under two differnet last names here Kilgore in the beginning here and now O'Very.

Thank you all For Everything!! You are Wonderful!!! God Bless You and Your Families and Keep You in His Care.

One brick at a time towards Peace and Kindness.

God Bless This World!!!!!
